Story
Oh my, this is a big world that I had no idea even existed outside of those walls. Since being out, I've been experiencing so many new things; sounds, smells, human interaction! (Oh, uh, I'm Harley by the way.) So far, I've discovered that I really enjoy the presence of other dogs, don't mind rides in the car, and that all humans aren't that bad after all. In fact, I'm so curious what my foster humans are doing, that I like to be their shadow. Though I'm still not at 100%, house training isn't going so bad. I'm gradually getting there! When going for walks on the leash I sometimes have my moments where I stop and freeze. I don't know if it's out of fear, confusion, or if I just need a minute to take things in. But I need my new humans to understand that I am still navigating this huge change after all. In fact, I typically present as shy when you first meet me, which is why I think no one has really fallen hard for me yet. But, after some time together, we'll grow that bond. I just need some time. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy playing too once I warm up to you and the other dogs in the home! I want to be transparent though as I'd prefer that my forever family completely understands that this transition will likely be hard. When you initially go to attach my leash, I get a little nervous. When you close the door to my crate, I start feeling all sorts of emotions, which makes me paw at the door and bark a bit -this comes and goes, but I do eventually settle. However, when I'm not in my crate and you leave me alone, I feel TRULY alone which I don't always love. So, I may whine a bit, which you can understand why.  What I feel that I need in order to truly thrive would be someone who is patient and understanding. Maybe someone who has the ability to be home often so I'm not kenneled too much, though I do understand that often times, kennels are a safe space. Doesn't mean I love it though. And lastly, I really would like to have at least one other dog in the home. It helps me build confidence, have a constant companion and have someone to learn what it's like to just be a dog.  If you think you'd be a good fit for me, please apply so we can see if we hit it off!-Harley You can apply for this pup at: https://www.fetchfosterandrescue.com/adopt Name: Harley D.O.B: 05/04/2024 Breed: Beagle Sex: Male Weight: 23.2 lbs Altered: Yes  Adoption Fee: 400 Good with kids: I'm not sure. Story
Meet Scooter! This handsome 1-year-old Beagle is looking for a patient adopter who will give him the time he needs to feel safe and loved. While he can be a little shy when meeting new people, especially men, once he trusts you, his sweet personality shines through. He'll happily follow you around the house, snuggle up for cuddles, and become your loyal best friend. Scooter loves being outdoors and enjoys walks, though his Beagle nose occasionally leads him on little sniffing adventures. He rides great in the car, is doing wonderfully with pottying outside, and gets along well with his two foster Beagle sisters. Once he's comfortable in his surroundings, he loves to play and have fun. Because he can be nervous around unfamiliar people, particularly men, he'll need a patient family that understands trust takes time. He may initially growl when a man enters the room, but with gentle, calm interactions and patience, he continues to make progress and will even accept pets when he's feeling comfortable. If you're willing to let this sweet boy move at his own pace, you'll be rewarded with a devoted companion who just wants a person to call his own.  can apply for this pup at: https://www.fetchfosterandrescue.com/adopt Name: Scooter D.O.B: 05/04/2025 Breed: Beagle Sex: Male Weight: 24.8 lbs Altered: Yes  Adoption Fee: 400 Good with kids: I'm not sure. Story
'Ello friends! I'm Scott, a boy who is in search of a very patient home as I learn what it's like to simply "dog." You may see that I sometimes act like a puppy even though I'm not. So, while I navigate what's acceptable behavior and not, I need someone who is patient and understanding with their responses as I don't want to be reliving my rough past.  Keep away is one of my favorite games whether you like it or not. My foster mom is trying to teach me that I can't steal socks, dishtowels, blankets, shampoo bottles or anything that I feel is fair game. Boring! Anywho, I would really love a home that has another dog for me to learn and grow with. As I'm still adjusting to this change, I've been working through some resource guarding with my high priority chew treats. So in other words, I may need someone who knows how to handle that and can be patient, especially if there's other dogs in the home. Something to also make note of is that I don't really understand personal space, so I may be in your bubble or my dog sibling's bubble without seeing an issue. My foster mom says I have "selective hearing" cause sometimes I can just zone her right out. I hear it's a beagle thing, but it could also be because I'm still taking in all these noises and smells. It's confusing, exciting and a bit scary at times. So, bare with me. Speaking of that, I've learned how to go up stairs, but going down still makes me feel a little leery.  I'll sleep in my kennel all night, but during the day, I would much prefer to not be kenneled. I mean, now that I've gotten this taste of freedom, I want as much time to enjoy life with you. I love being outside and exploring, so I hope my new family does too. While I do alright on a long lead outside, if my human walks further than I can reach, I struggle, which leads to crying and howling cause it's just not fair. Overall, I do well with men, but large bulky coats or hats can trigger me, making me growl and bark.  And, since I want to be completely honest, I'm really struggling with separation anxiety. I just want to be by you and if I'm not, I'm likely getting into something I shouldn't be. Oh and speaking of anxiety, I tend to get carsick too.  Okay, now that the brutal honesty is out of the way, let's talk about the good stuff. I really love cuddling and receiving butt scratches! I'm not really shy, in fact I'm quite the curious guy. House training is going well and I've been showing more and more progress with it, though I may not be 100% there yet. I've been eating really good and have not shown any food aggression towards other dogs. You may just have to keep an eye on me so I don't eat their food too! I've been starting to pick up certain commands. For example, I understand what going "outside" means, what going "inside" means, and I'm starting to get "sit." I love to receive kisses and I play well with other dogs. I mean, sure I'm still learning that holding onto other dogs' neck scruff needs to be lighter when playing, but mind you, I didn't get to play until recently. So I'm still learning what's considered normal! I've also done really well with getting a bath and actually walk right into the shower when someone is in there. My foster mom says that my curiosity is unstoppable! Now that you've read through all of the good and the bad, what do you think? Do you feel like I could fit into your lifestyle? If so, apply so we can meet! -Scott  You can apply for this pup at: https://www.fetchfosterandrescue.com/adopt Name: Scott D.O.B: 05/04/2024 Breed: Beagle Sex: Male Weight: 23 lbs Altered: Yes  Adoption Fee: 400 Good with kids: I'm not sure. Story
Ollie is learning very quickly how to be a great dog, but still has room to grow. He has mastered stairs, but doesn’t quite understand edges, so he may fall off the couch or bed during his adventures or an intense scratch. He is eating twice a day with some treats in between, but isn’t super food motivated, so using treats to train doesn’t always work. He does love cheese and the occasional piece of hot dog, but is confused by most dog treats. We’ve been trying an assortment of treats, so he is getting more and more used to them. He is very skittish around strangers, but once he knows you, can be a real snuggle bug, especially at night. In the daytime, he does like his alone time, napping in a sunny spot or in a comfy dog bed, as long as he has the option to be near you if he wants (no closed doors). Ollie is somewhat house trained, but may take quite a while to get totally there. He no longer potties on carpets, but will still mark his favorite spots, even if he just had a potty break.Ollie is very scared of the leash. Even the slightest tug will send him into full panic mode. We are working on it, but it is a slow process for this special guy. Similarly, the car still scares Ollie, but he is brave and curious, so I have no doubts he will learn to love it!He loves our other dog. He will curl up and nap alongside him or follow him around all day. Ollie is also very playful and loves to chase and wrestle our other dog.Although he is very smart, he is hesitant to learn commands. This may be a slower process than with some other dogs, as Ollie is still decompressing and learning to trust people. He does not try to hop gates or dig under fences, but he will not come when called or stop behaviors when remanded. This does mean you need to keep a close eye on him, especially around carpets or blankets as he will try to eat them.Overall, Ollie is a very lovable dog, and with patience and the right family, will thrive!
