Story
Meet Denahi 🐻✨ Denahi is our little “bear of wisdom” — and he definitely thinks he knows best! This handsome fluffball carries himself with a confident strut and a curious mind. At just 8 weeks old, he’s already decided he’s in charge… or at least he likes to pretend he is. Denahi loves to pick on his siblings in the most playful, mischievous way. Whether he’s starting a wrestling match or sneaking in to steal the best toy, he keeps everyone on their toes. He’s smart, bold, and always watching to see what’s going on around him. But underneath that wise, slightly bossy exterior is a total sweetheart. After he’s done proving his “superior” puppy knowledge, Denahi is more than happy to settle in for snuggles and soak up the love. He bonds deeply and will make a loyal, devoted companion. If you’re looking for a confident, playful pup with personality for days and a heart full of love, Denahi is ready to lead the way right into your home. 💛🐾 Denahi’s adoption fee is $425 plus MN tax which covers his neuter, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care he may have needed while in the rescue’s care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. Story
Jordan is the definition of gentle, quiet love. This beautiful mama dog has already lived a lifetime of experiences, yet she remains incredibly sweet, affectionate, and trusting. Jordan is approximately 4 years old and now weighs 46 pounds — a wonderful medium size that’s sturdy enough for adventures but still perfectly couch-snuggle compatible. Jordan is both crate trained and potty trained, making her an easy and respectful addition to a home. She has a naturally submissive, friendly personality and a calm, loving presence that makes people fall for her almost instantly. She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t demand attention but gratefully soaks up every bit of affection you offer. What truly sets Jordan apart is her heart. After being weaned from her own puppies, Jordan was introduced to nine newborn puppies who were being given away in a Walmart parking lot, with no mother in sight. Despite having just raised her own litter, Jordan still had a little milk left — and without hesitation, she climbed into the basket and allowed the babies to nurse. That moment perfectly captures who Jordan is: nurturing, gentle, and endlessly loving. Jordan’s own puppies went on transport before her. She was not selected. Later, Northern Lakes Rescue chose her, giving her a chance at the life she had always deserved. After a long and stressful journey, Jordan is now ready and waiting for something she has never truly had — a home where she can simply relax and be someone’s beloved companion. Jordan will thrive with a patient, understanding family who will allow her to decompress and adjust at her own pace. Like many dogs who have experienced instability, she may need a little time to fully settle, but beneath that transition period is an incredibly affectionate, loyal dog ready to bond deeply with her people. Jordan is ready to leave survival behind and finally enjoy the simple joys of being a dog — soft beds, full bowls, gentle hands, and a family to call her own. If you’re looking for a kind-hearted, soulful companion with an extraordinary capacity for love, Jordan may be your perfect match.

Story
Meet Bette Davis — and yes… the eyes absolutely steal the scene. 🎬 This lovely leading lady didn’t just inherit a legendary name — she lives up to it. With those big, soulful eyes, Bette has perfected the art of the dramatic gaze. One look and you’ll be completely cast under her spell. Hollywood could never. But her star power doesn’t stop there. Bette’s coat? Pure luxury. The kind of soft that makes you keep petting her long after you meant to stop. Seriously — the softest coat you may ever touch. Behind the glamour, Bette is a sensitive girl still adjusting to a lot of recent change. She is currently very shut down after transport and will need a patient, understanding home willing to let her decompress at her pace. No pressure, no expectations — just kindness, consistency, and time. Every great actress needs her quiet backstage moments. Bette Davis is heartworm positive and not yet spayed, which means she will require heartworm treatment and spay surgery prior to finalizing adoption. Her heartworm treatment will take place in the Duluth area. Because of this, Bette is available as a foster-to-adopt placement until her medical care is complete. This allows her future family to begin bonding with her while supporting her through the final steps of her journey. Bette doesn’t need the spotlight right now — she just needs someone willing to let her story unfold. And trust us… this girl is worth the wait. 💛 Bette's adoption fee is $425plus MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue’s care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are.
