Story

Winnie is a beautiful 5-year-old Husky girl weighing about 50 pounds, and she comes with some seriously awesome house-dog skills. She is house trained, crate trained, walks nicely on leash, rides well in the car, and has done well with both dogs and cats. Basically, Winnie already understands the assignment. She is the kind of girl who is easy to love — sweet, smiley, and ready to be someone’s loyal sidekick. Whether she’s going for a walk, hopping in the car for an adventure, or relaxing at home, Winnie is happiest when she gets to be part of the family. When it comes to kids, Winnie would likely do best with older, respectful children who understand dog boundaries. Younger kids may be a little too overwhelming for her, so a calmer home with dog-savvy kids would be her best fit. Like any queen, Winnie does have a couple of boundaries. She can be protective of her food around other animals, so she should be fed separately and given her own space during meals, treats, and high-value goodies. She also isn’t a big fan of vet visits, so she will need a patient adopter who can help her feel safe and advocate for her during medical care. Winnie has so many wonderful qualities already in place and is looking for a family who will love her for the amazing girl she is — quirks and all. 🐾 Winnie’s adoption fee is $400 MN tax which covers her spay, vaccinations, microchip and any additional medical care she may have needed while in the rescue’s care. We are a foster based rescue, we do not house dogs at a facility. Age and breed are NLR's best guess as we often don't know who or what mom and dad are. Story

Sweet Jade is a 10-month-old, 52-pound Shepherd mix who was transferred to us from an organization on a reservation up north. She came to the shelter alongside some other wonderful pups and would do great in a home with another dog!Jade can be a bit shy about new things like unfamiliar people or places, but she`s always remarkably sweet. She’ll get right down on her belly and slowly inch toward you for pets! Once she feels a little more comfortable, she likes to lean into her goofy and playful side.We don’t know much about Jade`s history, but we do know she`ll need a little help with her training. She`s a smart gal who just needs a gentle and patient family!Jade is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines. You can visit her at the shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.

Story

This sweet girl is about to steal your heart with her adorable floppy ear! Remi is a 5-year-old, 60-pound German Shepherd mix who has three major loves in life: fetch, treats, and her favorite human. Playing ball is her favorite pastime, and her absolute favorite place to be is an empty baseball field where she can run, fetch balls, and hang out with her person. Remi is very treat-motivated and already knows basic commands like `sit,` `down,` and `stay,` and she`s potty trained once she settles into a home`s daily routine. When home, Remi is a very cuddly girl who likes to stick right by your side.Remi is quite the loyal and protective girl. She loves her people so much that she can sometimes experience separation anxiety if left alone for long periods. She can also be a bit jealous when other dogs are getting more attention than her, though she has successfully lived peacefully with other dogs in the past. She`s looking for someone who can help her gain some confidence and learn to share her person!Remi is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines. You can visit her at the shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.
