Vicky is just over a year old and she is full of SPUNK. This girl will keep you on your toes. If you want a lazy, calm dog...she is not girl! That isn't to say she can't calm down, because she can...but if she has a choice she wants to go and see what life has to offer. Vicky is dog unsure. She doesn't seem to have had proper socialization with dogs and has no idea how to behave. She's totally all about her person though. She knows how to sit and she is HIGHLY food motivated. I mean I think this girl would do anything for her kibbles! She's got the energy and the passion to learn a lot. Vicky is probably 65-70 pounds. She's spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Vicky's adoption fee is $200. At Autumn Acres Animal Rescue we believe each individual animal matters. We take in special cases some of which will stay with us as a sanctuary dog.If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect Dog this means they have special needs and special requirements for potential adopters.If the animal is listed as a Socially Imperfect RESIDENT this animal is NOT available for adoption and is one of our sanctuary residents. Story
Pony Girl (so named for the Stay Golden Ponyboy line from The Outsiders) has had a very tough life so far. We thought things were improving. She's gained so much of her coat back, her infection was gone, she was playing and happy. She went to an amazing foster family and was doing great. Then the news all changed. She was diagnosed with cancer. Not a treatable cancer. She's on medication to make whatever time she has left happy and her foster family is dedicated to ensuring her last weeks/months will be full of happiness. If you want to meet or visit with her to show her some love please reach out to us. She loves car rides and does love people. She can be a little wary/shy at first, but does warm up to new people. She's been through so much in her life :( At Autumn Acres Animal Rescue we believe each individual animal matters. Updated Bio as of June 2023: Jupiter was originally found as a lost pup with her 2 brothers in a corn field during winter. She nearly froze to death, she was so cold she couldn't run/move quickly and people were able to catch her. They were all very thin and had to fight to survive with the coyotes out there. Jupiter is learning to trust humans and will be a happy dog around me but still skittish over touch. With new people she will take time to warm up for sure. Jupiter's adoption fee is sponsored. She is ok with other dogs but initially acts like she's aggressive. It's the survival mode in her. Once she knows they aren't going to hurt her she warms up. She will need to be fed separately from other animals. At Autumn Acres Animal Rescue we believe each individual animal matters.
