He is on monthly prevention, microchipped, has an estimated date of birth of 6 December 2021 and at the  time of transport weighed 45 pounds. We have no way of knowing what the actual breed is, so it is up to people to look at the pictures and video's to make up their own mind. Notes from Foster family where Archer was for 7 weeks before coming back to the rescue. Archer has only been here for three weeks but is probably the best foster dog anyone could hope for. He was very nervous at first, and remains uncertain about changes or loud noises but is much better.   He's an active dog but smart and able to reign it in. In the long term, he might prefer a home with a younger dog but in the short term having a quiet environment is allowing him to learn to sit and learn his name with little distraction. He loves to play with Zephyr when Zephyr has the oomph, but will settle for us when he needs to!   He does seem to prefer women (aka, me) but this may be because I'm home all the time and Henry comes and goes. We're going to have a couple people over this week to see if he gravitates towards women who AREN'T me.   He likes walks, but hates leashes. He is learning MUCH faster to walk on a leash than Zephyr ever did. This afternoon we'll take them both down to the lower pastures and let them run in an empty one. He's good at making his own toys and likes things that come apart more than rubbery things that survive his chewing! He loves my kindling pile and will help himself when need be! He is also very good about trying to keep all his toys outside and continues to seem surprised when I tell him he can play inside.   He is not very food driven, but is praise driven and eager to please. He is really smart, learns quickly and is all-round a lovely boy. The rescue buys food in bulk, by the truck load and there are a variety of brands and flavors. None of the food given is less than a 4* food rating. There have not been issues with eating any of the varying foods. It is important that you do your research on the ingredients and speak to your vet or a nutritionist on grain vs grain free! &#226&#128&#139You MUST understand that dogs need time to decompress and adapt to their new environment and home. At the 3-month point, your dog understands they are home, and have built up a trusting relationship where they feel loved and secure. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue  YouTube channel  and  photo albums on our Facebook page  to see a LOT of pictures and videos.      CINDERELLA is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm/tick tested negative. She is on monthly prevention, microchipped, has an estimated date of birth of 30 December 2019 and at the time of transport weighed 63.6 pounds. We have no way of knowing what the actual breed is, so it is up to people to look at the pictures and video's to make up their own mind. CINDERELLA was picked up as a stray who had been hit by a car and had a broken foot. The foot had already started to heal and a callous formed and so re-setting the break was not possible. It was thought that amputation might be needed, however, the vet decided to give her some time to see how she got on. Cinderella has been with a foster family and has been using her foot, she does run, play and jump and so thankfully amputation was not needed. However, where the break was and callous has formed, will be weaker and it is recommended jumping be limited and supplements to help strengthen her bones be given. The shelter is willing to forward x-rays to the adopters veterinarian who has the software to open the radiographs. She may occasionally need pain meds on cold days or at times when she has been a little too energetic and she will get arthiritis in the future so it is important to discuss with your vet for high quality supplements, food and potential treatments for arthiritis. She does NOT need limited exercise, but it is important to restrict activity such as jumping and such that could cause excess impact on her foot. BENNY is not comfortable being restrained at the vets for blood draw, so it is advised to ensure he is muzzled as a precaution and vet techs advised. Notes from the shelter volunteers: Benny is friendly, he is strong, pulls on the leash, but can control, he jumps up for treats/toys, he is gentle when taking treats, he loves toys, balls and squeaker and enjoys playing fetch, he knows sit and is high energy.
