Without a home commitment, she will not be able to make the trip. Lucy is a 2-year-old, 50-pound sweetheart who loves both people and other dogs. She is friendly, playful, and eager to be part of a family. Lucy is house trained, crate trained, and absolutely loves to play fetch. Lucy has been in a foster home while she finished her heartworm treatment. Lucy was originally heartworm positive, but she has completed her treatment and is now healthy, cleared, and ready to head north to begin her new life. She is already spayed and has been patiently waiting for her chance at a home of her own. Lucy is a happy, social dog who would fit well into many types of homes. She is affectionate, enjoys activity, and loves spending time with her people. You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure its the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $150 once we receive proof of the procedure. Meet Sweet Pea Sweet Pea is a 5-month-old brindle mixed breed pup, about 15 pounds, who was found as a stray and ended up in the Arkansas kill shelter system. Despite this rough start, she lives up to her name in every way—sweet, friendly, and eager to love. She is still very much a puppy and learning the ropes, but her warm personality and gentle nature make her a wonderful fit for many types of homes. Sweet Pea is friendly with people, kids, and other dogs, and is likely good with cats due to her age.
