Ritz arrived at the shelter in June of 2025 as a precious 6 month old German shepherd mix puppy who had been thrown from a moving vehicle. Luckily he was not injured and he didn’t let this dampen his sweet personality. Ritz was quickly adopted and but was returned to the shelter six months later by his family. Volunteers can't understand how they could give him up, but young dogs require a lot of attention and exercise and perhaps the family was too busy. Ritz is playful and knows how to sit, and he's eager to learn and be a good companion. He is up to date on his vaccinations, heartworm negative, and already neutered and microchipped. Come meet this sweet boy in kennel 833, his ID is 10114. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heart worm or combo test and a microchip.

Oreo is a friendly and energetic big pup. Unfortunately, he was surrendered to the shelter on 1/17/26 because his owner was unable to continue to care for him. He has been spending his time sniffing everything and trying to navigate his new environment. Oreo is house trained, good with kids and ready to meet his new forever family. Oreo is 10 months old and weighs 54 pounds. He is UTD on vaccines and has tested negative for heartworms. He will be neutered and microchipped upon adoption.
