Meet Cooper! He was being fostered, and the family decided it wasn't a good fit and returned Cooper on 1/7. They did mention that Cooper seems house-trained, good with older children, and good with other dogs. He doesn't seem to know his size, so he would be best in a home with older more dog-savvy kids. Cooper is now keeping his paws crossed for a new, forever home where he will be loved and kept safe so that he never ends up back in the shelter. The volunteers describe Cooper as sweet and loving. He is quiet in his kennel and sits nicely for treats. He is a very handsome boy with a super soft coat. Cooper is approximately 5 years old, and weighs 86 lbs. He is UTD on vaccines, and he has been neutered and microchipped. Unfortunately, Cooper did test positive for heartworms, but with proper treatment and care he can go on to live a long and healthy life. Please speak with shelter staff about the option of fostering to adopt while he receives treatment. Cooper is waiting patiently in kennel 873; his ID # is 15391. Ritz arrived at the shelter in June of 2025 as a precious 6 month old German shepherd mix puppy who had been thrown from a moving vehicle. Luckily he was not injured and he didn’t let this dampen his sweet personality. Ritz was quickly adopted and but was returned to the shelter six months later by his family. Volunteers can't understand how they could give him up, but young dogs require a lot of attention and exercise and perhaps the family was too busy. Ritz is playful and knows how to sit, and he's eager to learn and be a good companion. He is up to date on his vaccinations, heartworm negative, and already neutered and microchipped.
