Story
Koda is a sweet, playful guy who’s great with kids and gets along well with other dogs. He’s crate trained and absolutely loves his toys — fetch, tug, or just chewing, he’s always ready for some fun! Koda can be a little shy at first and needs some time to warm up to new people, but once he does, he’s a total sweetheart who enjoys all the love and attention you can give him. If you’re looking for a loyal, gentle companion who’s ready to be your new best friend, Koda is your guy!

Story
Kiara is very energetic and spunky. She was rescued from an abusive home when she was 4mo old in December of last year and has been living with me ever since. I put her through 8 weeks of obedience training classes when I first got her, and from that she learned the commands sit and down. Unfortunately, because of my busy schedule I was not able to keep up with the other training from the course, so she does have some behavior issues like jumping on people when she first meets them. She is house trained, kennel trained, and she knows how to use a dog door. Kiara needs a lot of attention to keep her busy and entertained. I am away for work 10-12 hours a day and I'm not able to devote the time to her that she deserves. Right now she spends every work in her kennel because she will get into mischief when she's bored. I'm looking for a loving, active home that can devote time to train and take her on daily walks and adventures. She is very sweet and deserves the best home I can find.

Story
We absolutely LOVE Kiki, and will be sad to see her leave, but we are just too busy to properly take care of her. She's 2 1/2 years old, very affectionate, loving, bright, intelligent, and athletic. She's eager to learn, be trained, makes a great watch dog and is very protective of our house. As a normal Belgian Malinois, she has a strong prey drive and has attacked a couple of our cats, but that is because we introduced the cats to her too late. We wish we had the time to take care of her better. We're an elderly couple, and if we were younger, she'd definitely be a keeper!!

Story
Characteristics: Achilles is a eager, loving, and loyal boy. He absolutely loves hoses, and chasing lizards. He would be content with a quiet home, or minimal exercise, although he is a shepherd mix. He would love to be around water or have access to swimming. Background: Achilles came to us through our foster program with Pinal county. He was on the priority foster list due to having a bite record from his previous surrender. The circumstance of the bite was unknown, but assumed to be from a loud noise scaring him or being aggressed by the previous owner. Due to changes in the Pinal county insurance policy, we have adopted Achilles to avoid euthanasia. Current progress: Achilles came to us with stranger danger, assumably from shelter stress. He has made a lot of progress interacting with new people as well as dogs. He is still hyper-sensitive to noises and movements, but has learned how to interact with that stress appropriately. Achilles has also undergone basic obedience classes, and is crate trained. Cat tested: Not recommended (prey drive) but can be tested. Kids: Older children with meet and greet only. On leash: Minor pulling on leash, very receptive to training. Behavior concerns: With his hyper-sensitivity, loud noises and fast movements should be limited in the home while he is transitioning to home life. He will most likely need a structured process to introducing strangers in the home at first to be more comfortable. Training receptiveness: High food drive, minimal toy drive. He has been very easy to work with in training and is easy to leave it when barking, even with the hose, which is his favorite. He is eager to please, especially if you are his person. When you adopt a dog from Como Animal Works, you are provided free boarding as a courtesy and comfort of the dog being familiar with our facility. We also provide free training sessions on-site or at the home while the dog is transitioning to home life. Our goal is to help keep dogs out of overcrowded shelters and provide much needed dog socialization during that time.
