He loves playing with his foster siblings and is always ready for wrestling, zoomies, and toy time. Nico has a big heart and an even bigger zest for fun. While he can get excited during play, he settles down nicely and listens well. He is doing very well with his leash training and continues to improve every day. Nico is crate trained and house-trained, making him an easy addition to a home. When playtime is over, he happily shifts into cuddle mode and becomes a sweet, affectionate companion. He enjoys being close to his people and soaks up attention. Nico would thrive with an active family or individual who is ready to include him in adventures, outings, and everyday life. Our shelter is open Thursday–Tuesday, 11 am–5 pm, and closed on Wednesdays. Adopting with High Country Humane means your new pet is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped (we register it for free!). Each adoption also includes a free health exam. With a heavy heart, we need to rehome our girl Kiki as soon as possible. She is a Belgian Malinois (mom) x Cane Corso (dad) mix (both parents purebred) and is a little over 1 year old. Kiki is incredibly loving with adults and bonds hard with her people, but she needs to be in the right environment. Why we are rehoming: Kiki has had escalating issues with dog aggression, specifically with her littermate in our home (they can get aggressive with each other). She also previously had an incident with aggression toward one person (our roommate) after negative interactions when she was younger. Outside of that, she is extremely affectionate and sweet with adults. Not sure if I should say we found Guinness or Guinness found us! Back in May she was dumped/abandoned near our home. I would put food under a bush she frequented for shade. She then disappeared. I was able to track her to our county shelter with some sleuthing. We went down and here was this scared girl in shock. I knew she wouldnt last long based on her breed and condition. We adopted her full well knowing what we were getting into. She has stolen my heart. We have nursed her back to being a healthy playful dog. With my travel schedule(I am her chosen one) of being gone 10-14 days each month and an 8 year old female lab that I am also the chosen one for-Guinness has stress and anxiety constantly. We have to keep them separate at all times. We have invested in training, behavioral coaches, but our home just isnt what is best for her.
