Story

Maverick has had a ruff life. Sadly, he was on the street/woods for well over 2 months. After being chased, yelled at and who knows what, he found a place that was safe for him. Food was available next to this safe place with a section 8housing. He was timid of people but not aggressive. Took almost 2 weeks to catch him. Once safe in a home, Maverick started to blossom and become an amazing dog. Believe to be about a yr old. Good with other dogs - in a home with other Belgians and a chihuahua. He does play to rough with the smaller. Will chase a cat if they run Has been around kids at the housing complex, not with me. House and crate trained. Started basic training He does bark at sounds that he doesn’t understand The person Must Be willing to continue training Must be willing and understanding that he needs time to adjust to the new environment Must have working dog experience He is not aggressive- but does need reassurance at times

Hi, I'm Eclipse! My brothers and sisters and I were dropped off in a rural neighborhood to fen for ourselves when a good samaritan reached out to Second Chance to help us. Now we have been vetted, received our shots and boosters, we've seen the vet, and are ready to go to our new homes. We will have to be taken to Spay n Save in the beginning of June for our neuter appt and rabies shot, which is included in our adoption fee. I also come with a registered microchip and a full set of vet records for you and my new vet. We are all very sweet pups and will likely be 50-80 pounds when fully grown, I'm one of the largest pups, so I will probably be closer to the 80 pound mark - but since no DNA test has been done, so this weight is just a guess. I will be a large breed adult dog, so will require room inside and out. Since I am a large breed puppy and possibly a restricted breed (Shepherd mix), I will require an adopter who owns their own home, no renters. If you would like to meet me and my siblings, please complete an adoption application. Upon pre-approval, someone will reach out to set up a meet and greet. Looking forward to meeting you! Story

Samantha came into a local shelter as a scared stray before coming to us. She is around 1-year-old and mid-sized. She likes other dogs and playing, but can annoy some because of her assertive play style. She loves kids and has no personal space. She has also been introduced to cats and is either scared of them or avoids them, but she has not been loose with them in the house. She is house-trained and has also learned to use a doggie-door. She has a Shepherd personality. Samantha did have an accident where a blanket cut off circulation to a lower front leg and she is currently working on using that front paw again. We are hopeful that she will use it more and more, but she may always have some nerve damage at the first joint. It does not slow her down though.Visit us at the Gainesville Petsmart on Archer Rd Saturdays 11 am to 5 pm and Sundays Noon to 5 pm.
