Maverick has had a ruff life. Sadly, he was on the street/woods for well over 2 months. After being chased, yelled at and who knows what, he found a place that was safe for him. Food was available next to this safe place with a section 8housing. He was timid of people but not aggressive. Took almost 2 weeks to catch him. Once safe in a home, Maverick started to blossom and become an amazing dog. Believe to be about a yr old. Good with other dogs - in a home with other Belgians and a chihuahua. He does play to rough with the smaller. Will chase a cat if they run Has been around kids at the housing complex, not with me. House and crate trained. Started basic training He does bark at sounds that he doesn’t understand The person Must Be willing to continue training Must be willing and understanding that he needs time to adjust to the new environment Must have working dog experience He is not aggressive- but does need reassurance at times

Hi, I'm Eclipse! My brothers and sisters and I were dropped off in a rural neighborhood to fen for ourselves when a good samaritan reached out to Second Chance to help us. Now we have been vetted, received our shots and boosters, we've seen the vet, and are ready to go to our new homes. We will have to be taken to Spay n Save in the beginning of June for our neuter appt and rabies shot, which is included in our adoption fee. I also come with a registered microchip and a full set of vet records for you and my new vet. We are all very sweet pups and will likely be 50-80 pounds when fully grown, I'm one of the largest pups, so I will probably be closer to the 80 pound mark - but since no DNA test has been done, so this weight is just a guess. I will be a large breed adult dog, so will require room inside and out. Since I am a large breed puppy and possibly a restricted breed (Shepherd mix), I will require an adopter who owns their own home, no renters. Lila is a 4-year-old energetic, cuddly girl who loves to run and chew on bones. Unfortunately, she does not always get along well with other dogs, which is why we are rehoming her. She has the most expressive eyes an animal could have and gets the most excited bark when you say the "o" word (outside). Lila would do best in a home with an experienced owner who is home often, can spend time with her to train her on her dog aggression, and has a yard for her to run around in. She does well with adults but is nervous around kids. Overall, she is housetrained as long as she isn’t left too long. We were told she has bad hips but that has never stopped her from loving to play fetch! At the end of the day, she wants nothing more than to curl up next to you on the couch. She would love to be your new best friend!

Chomps is around 5 years old and is possibly a German Shepherd mix.  We are not 100% sure of his breed, but he is a gorgeous, sweet and goofy big baby.  He was pulled from Animal Control after he had his tail bitten off by an animal and went through 4 surgeries to have it repaired.  He needs a confidence booster, as shelter life hasn't been easy on him, but is the type of dog that once he bonds with you he is yours forever!  He doesn't appear to have much exposure to cats so his ideal home would be without cats till he gets his confidence back and learns he is safe in his forever home.  Chomps is a quick learner, he loves life even though it has not been easy on him and deserves the best!  He is crate trained, will do anything for food and is fully vetted.  If you are interested in him you can apply at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/IDFL/Dog.  September 14, 2023, 12:20 am
