Story
Meet Vanya! a stunning 1yr+8mo Belgian Malinois mix who was born right here at our rescue and spent her crucial first year in a loving foster home. Because of her time in foster care, she already knows the rhythm of household living making her transition into a new environment that much smoother. Vanya is a sharp, capable girl who thrives when given clear structure, daily purpose, and strong handler guidance. She does have a manageable medical condition called mild megaesophagus, which requires an adopter maintaining her specific feeding routine to keep her healthy and happy. Because Vanya takes time to feel secure with new people and environments, she requires slow, proper introductions and an adult-only home without young kids. Experienced handlers who understand working breed mindsets and value canine education will find an exceptionally loyal, intelligent, and devoted partner in Vanya!

Story
Meet Rocco! a vibrant young Belgian Malinois with a heart of gold and the legendary energy to match. True to his breed, Rocco is a high-octane companion who thrives when he has a "job" to do; he is happiest in an environment that provides constant mental stimulation, clear structure, and firm boundaries. Though he is an elite athlete in spirit, he is also a world-class snuggler who adores affection and truly loves the one-on-one time of being groomed. Rocco’s journey hasn't been easy—he was sadly surrendered to rescue after his previous owner, an elderly individual living in a vehicle, realized they could no longer provide the space and activity he requires. Despite this upheaval, Rocco has remained a social and gentle soul who gets along well with other dogs and is wonderful with children. He is now searching for a forever home where he can be cherished as a family member and given the active, purposeful lifestyle he deserves.

Story
Apollo is approximately 1 years old. An EMbark DNA test shows Apollo is Belgian Malinois/Dutch Shepherd/German Shepherd mix. Apollo is a goofy, total love bug with a good puppy energy level. He knows basic commands, walks well on a leash, and is normally neutral to other dogs. Apollo is a euthanasia survivor from Miami Dade Animal Services. #A2690586 arrived at the shelter as a stray and due to his size and energy level, he quickly made it on the euthanasia list. He was adopted into the wrong home that let him down after less than 24 hours and later rescued by a volunteer. Two months after being out of the shelter, Apollo decompressed from the stressful shelter environment. He bloomed into a well natured puppy that seeks affection and has a beautiful play style. A DNA test was done on this stunning boy that revealed a wonderful blend of working shepherd breeds: Belgian Malinois, Dutch Shepherd and German Shepherd. Apollo does not react to other dogs but also does not actively engage to play with them. He prefers human interaction but can be introduced to other dogs and coexist peacefully as long as he has his space. He is crate and potty trained and likes the water. He still has puppy energy and would do better in a home where he is not alone for long periods of time. Apollo has been in board and training for over a month and needs to continue to bloom into an active and loving family. Apollo is available for meet and greets in South Florida and has been evaluated by 2 trainers who are available to provide feedback on his personality and potentials. If you live in Florida and you're interested in adopting Apollo, please complete our foster/adopter application online at https://form.jotform.com/241102582838152 and someone will be in touch! Story
Meet Mama Aspen! 💖 Hi there! I’m Mama Aspen — a gentle, loving girl with a big heart. I came to Big Dog Ranch Rescue as a stray from Alabama, pregnant and looking for safety. I raised my beautiful puppies with lots of love, and now that they’re all grown, it’s finally my turn to find a forever home of my own. I’m wonderful on a leash and really enjoy going for walks. I get along great with other dogs, adore kids alike, and my favorite things include playing with stuffed animals, cuddling up close to my human, and getting those irresistible belly rubs! I might not have much experience beyond being an amazing mama, but I have endless love to give. What I want most is a family who’ll snuggle with me, take me on walks, and make me feel safe and cherished. ❤️ Are you the one who’ll give me my forever home?

Story
Meet Ginger: Ginger is a 2-year-old King Shepherd mix who came to us as an owner surrender in early 2024 after bravely overcoming a heartbreaking case of parvo. Due to the medical costs, her previous owner was unable to continue her care—but thanks to treatment and time, Ginger is now completely healthy and ready to find a loving home. Ginger is a super sweet dog and a total love bug who truly enjoys affection and being close to her people. She is high energy and can get excited easily, so she would thrive in a home with older children who are comfortable with a large, enthusiastic dog. Ginger benefits greatly from structure and a consistent routine, which helps her channel her energy and feel secure. She does well with other dogs, but can be a bit selective—she will do best with a canine companion who has the right temperament to match her playful, confident personality. With proper introductions and the right match, she enjoys making dog friends and socializing safely. With the right balance of activity, guidance, and love, Ginger is ready to be a joyful, affectionate companion who brings warmth and energy to her new family.
