Poppy is a total firecracker with a heart of gold and a personality that sparkles! She is the definition of "life of the party," greeting every single person she meets like a long lost best friend. Don't let her athletic prowess fool you Poppy is a "Gentle Giant" through and through. Whether she’s giving out enthusiastic hugs or showing off her lightning fast learning skills, Poppy brings an infectious, super fun energy to every room she enters. What makes Poppy truly special is her incredible bond with her humans; she is a total velcro dog who just wants to be where the action is! While she has the drive of an adventurer, she is also a world class lounger who loves to hang out on the couch after a day of play. She loves her "private mini room!" Poppy is crate trained and views her space as a cozy sanctuary to relax. She’s been living and playing with smaller dogs (around 17 lbs) and has shown she’s a social butterfly who loves to lick her foster siblings' faces every morning to say "hello." She’s a smart cookie who picks up on house rules in a heartbeat! Poppy knows exactly how to scale down her play to be gentle with small dogs, and she’s a master of the "play bow" to make sure everyone knows she’s a friend, not a foe. She is a dream on a walk and a proud member of the loose leash club. No pulling here just a girl who loves to stroll and take in the sights. No accidents here! She is a pro at keeping her space clean and follows a household routine perfectly. Incredibly smart, perfectly gentle, and always ready for the next ride. She is a loving explorer at heart, always ready to navigate a new hiking trail or scout out the best local coffee shop patio with you by her side.
We suspect Poppy is a Belgian Malinois mix, which means she’s got the brains and the beauty! Weighing in at a sleek 45 pounds, she is that perfect medium size big enough to keep up on a run, but compact enough to easily hop in the car for a weekend getaway. Of course, with any rescue, her breed is a bit of a mystery, but her intelligence and stunning coat are 100% pure bred Good Girl.
When it comes to other dogs, Poppy is a social superstar! She loves a good game of chase and is a play bow professional. She isn't just a pretty face (though that coat and those perked up ears speak for themselves!). She’s a vocal girl, but not for no reason she just loves to chat and invite her friends to join the party. Great with friends, but is just as happy to be your one and only! She would be happiest in a home with a medium energy dog who can keep up with her fun loving wrestling matches but also knows when it’s time to take a collective nap. Whether she’s sharing her favorite toys, wrestling on the couch, or inviting a buddy to play with one of her signature "are you ready to play" chirps, she is a polite and playful companion who would make an amazing addition to a multi dog household.
Poppy thinks she’s the star of the show, so she’s looking for a feline free home! She’d much rather spend her time focusing on her human friends or playing "tag" with her canine buddies than worrying about what a kitty is up to. To keep everyone happy and wagging, she’s sticking to a cat free lifestyle where she can be her best, bouncy self.
The ideal home for Poppy is one that matches her zest for life! Because she’s a brilliant working breed mix, she’d love an active adopter who enjoys training or outdoor adventures. She would adore a house with a yard to zoom in, but she could also be a rockstar apartment dog for a active person who treats the city as their playground. Something cute about her? We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop off locations, in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, connect with fellow adopters and fosters through our private Facebook event page!
Before the adoption is finalized, you will meet your pet through a video call, creating a fun and personalized experience!
The adoption fee is $1,200.00 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
