Story
Meet Echo! Echo is an adventurous, loving and smart shepherd mix. She is an active girl looking for a fresh start!Echo`s three favorite things are being outside, cream cheese and tennis balls. She loves to spend her days outside playing fetch, going on hikes and then settling in with some cream cheese filled enrichment. If you`re looking for a happy adventure buddy, then Echo is the one for you!Echo is looking for adopters who can continue to put her brain to use (she loves to learn new tricks) and show her the ropes of being a dog. She has already mastered sit, paw, down and drop it and is working on spin and rollover. She is incredibly loyal and will lean in for pets once comfortable. Echo may enjoy living with older kids, but we are not sure if she ever has lived with them. Dogs? Maybe, but they would have to meet first. If you are interested in adopting Echo, please come to the shelter on Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays between 12-4pm and bring the folks that you live with. If you are unable to come during those hours, please email dogs@worcesterarl.org to request an appointment, and let us know your availability.

Story
Rescued: 3/17/2023 Age at time of rescue: 3 days old Current weight: 42 pounds Meet Kimmy – Gentle, Sweet, and Learning to Love Life Kimmy is a soft-natured, gentle girl who has come such a long way since arriving in our care. Once unsure of touch and affection, she’s beginning to understand how wonderful gentle pets and companionship can be. Every week, she shows more curiosity, confidence, and trust — and she’s starting to act more and more like the happy dog she was always meant to be. What Makes Kimmy Special • Calm, polite, and naturally well-behaved • Housebroken and tidy in her space • Walks beautifully on leash and now enjoys exploring the neighborhood • Knows “sit,” “down,” and “place,” and is learning to hold her position with confidence • Starting to seek out affection — she’ll quietly nudge your hand for more pets once she warms up • Loves her Benebones, antlers and quiet moments nearby her favorite people • Respectful of her surroundings and easy to have around the home What Kimmy Needs Kimmy thrives with gentle structure and a calm environment. She continues to make wonderful progress with patient, positive experiences. Having another friendly, confident dog around helps her feel secure and encourages her playful side. She may still prefer calm moments to constant attention, but she’s learning that being close to people feels really good — and she’s blossoming into a loving, loyal companion. Who Kimmy Is Looking For Kimmy is hoping for a home that celebrates small victories and understands that building trust takes time — and lots of love. A patient adopter (and ideally a canine friend) will help her continue to grow into the happy, affectionate dog she’s becoming. Ready to Meet Kimmy? If you believe the best relationships are built gently and grow stronger day by day, Kimmy is ready to meet you. Step by step, she’s discovering that love feels wonderful — and she’s so ready to share it with her forever family. Thank you for considering a dog in need! Please go to our website at www.satoheartrescue.org to download our application. The adoption fee is $500.00 which can be paid in cash or check. We look forward to working with you! PLEASE DO NOT send an INQUIRY THROUGH ADOPT-A-PET. Due to the volume of emails we receive, we will not be able to reply.

Story
Meet Norman! A spirited approximately one-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd/Siberian Husky/American Pitbull Terrier mix from sunny Los Angeles, CA, now embracing the snowy wonderland of Lowell, MI! With his striking tricolor coat and mesmerizing mismatched eyes—one blue, one brown—Norman is a true head-turner. But it’s not just his looks that make him special; this high-energy, adventure-loving pup is always ready for fun! Norman thrives on movement, whether he’s dashing through the snow, leaping over fallen trees, or chasing after his beloved red ball. His enthusiasm is boundless, and he’s eager to share his love for playtime with an active family. Though he’s still working on leash manners, he’s made great progress and loves the freedom of a long lead for fetch sessions. Norman picks up training at lightning speed—he already knows “sit,” “wait,” “place,” “stay,” and “leave it.” Plus, he’s trained with the “yes” marker, making him a fantastic student who’s always eager to learn. He’s also a perfect gentleman in his crate, settling in like a pro when it’s time to rest. While Norman is friendly and curious about other dogs, he does have a strong prey drive—squirrels beware! He hasn’t had much experience with cats, so that’s still a mystery. And when it comes to water? Well, he’s still deciding how he feels about it. Lately, he’s been getting used to being in and around water, even exploring the creek for the first time! Shallow water is becoming less intimidating, and he’s making great progress—one paw at a time! Norman is seeking a home with experienced guardians who understand high-energy breeds and can provide plenty of structure, training, and activity. He thrives on both physical and mental challenges, so an active household willing to take him on adventures would be ideal. Due to his discomfort around young children, a home without little ones is recommended. Older kids may be fine with proper supervision. He’s highly food-motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding, and with positive reinforcement, he’ll continue to grow into the confident, well-mannered companion he’s meant to be! Norman recently completed his Lyme disease treatment and is currently doing great—he doesn’t show any symptoms and isn’t on any medications at this time. He’ll be retested in about five months to ensure everything stays on track. In the meantime, he’s as playful, affectionate, and adventurous as ever! Norman is eager to find a new loving home where he can run, learn, and cuddle up after a day of play. Could you be the one to welcome this spirited goofball into your life? Contact adopt@joyfulpets.com to meet Norman today!
