Story
I adopted floki back towards he end of September from a shelter in Indiana, before that he was a stray who had came in with two siblings. He's been a really good dog since I've had him, but with my work schedule I've been finding it hard to get him the proper training. He has learned his name quite well and will drop a toy when told, but doesn't have much of a recall. He spends time outdoors with my other dog and is excellent off leash whether it's just us or people are around. For the most part he is house trained, but has some issues. He wasn't potty trained when I got him and for the first two or 3 months he had issues going inside while I was at work. After that he was doing excellent and didnt have any issues until the beginning of March. Now when i come home for lunch amd after work i will notice he will go poop 1 or both times and he has been peeing everytime im gone. He sticks to one area luckily. also was a bit of a chewer and has gotten progressively better.

Maya is on the search for her fur/ever family. She’s the sweetest girl!! We believe she’s around 1 1/2 years old, and we suspect some sort of Shepherd mix, but don’t know fully what she is. We do know she is 100% adorable and sweet. She loves everyone she meets and seems to be quite dog friendly. She does need help with some basic obedience, and not jumping up, but is eager to learn so with some training classes she should have that habit stopped in no time. Maya does seem to love having her people home, but has gotten much better about settling her in cage. With the help of our supporters, we do have a special heavy duty cage to order for her future foster/fur-ever family.   An approved adoption application is required. The $300 adoption fee (payable by cash or check only) includes spay/neuter; microchip; dental teeth cleaning (if needed prior to adoption); vaccinations; heartworm and tick disease testing; fecal w/ giardia testing, monthly heartworm and flea and tick prevention . Our adoption application may be found by going to: www.headinhomerescue.org; then click on the link to the adoption application. Dogs for adoption may be seen by appointment only following an approved application. Proof of completion of an obedience class is required for all dogs following adoption. Please note: while we welcome out of state applications, we do not ship our animals and require adopters to come to Holland to finalize any adoption.May 5, 2024, 1:24 pm
