Angel was a stray from the Vineland area along with her 8 week old puppy. She was likely simply dumped by her owner. She is a very smart, energetic young adult Malinois. She is sensitive and learns quickly. She is just about housebroken now. Angel will do better in a single pet home however she does love our tester dog Danny. They kennel together often by their choice but they are always fed separately. This breed is not for the faint of heart. Malinois are super intelligent and require a lot of exercise. Videos of amazing Malinois doing outstanding agility and obedience are shot after hundreds of hours of training. Angel does not have that type of drive and will excel as a family companion. She seems to love children and is not good around cats. Since she arrived here, she has spent many, many hours with the Director. He will screen any potential adopters to ensure a good fit. Angel has not shown any aggression towards humans and seems to really like children. She does look a little crazy when she is in the kennel building and strangers come in, but she is very calmn and loving in a home environment. Don't let her activity level in the kennel fool you. If she is not in her kennel when you come in, ask the staff because she has office privileges upstairs and may be with the Director in his office. Meet Suki! Suki is a 4-month-old Belgian Malinois puppy with the biggest ears, the sweetest face, and a little white patch on her chest that makes her even more adorable. Suki came to our rescue alongside her sister, Letty, and she’s quickly winning everyone over with her fun-loving personality and confident spirit. Suki is very dog friendly and loves to play. She’s doing wonderfully with potty training and is proving to be a smart, eager young pup who enjoys learning. True to her breed, Suki is high energy and active, but so far she has shown a nice, balanced temperament and does not seem overly high strung. This girl has drive and potential! Suki has already started participating in baby bite club and is showing us that she would thrive with structure, training, and a job to do. We would love to see her in a working or sport home where she can continue to build confidence, use her brain, and channel her natural instincts in a positive way. Because of her breed traits and working potential, we are requiring that adopters have prior working dog experience. Letty came to our rescue with her sister, Suki, and while she still has all the intelligence and energy typical of her breed, she is the calmer and softer of the two girls. Letty is very dog friendly, playful, and affectionate. She’s doing great with potty training and has been a fun, easy puppy to work with. While she enjoys being active and engaged, she has shown a more relaxed temperament and less drive than her sister, making us think she could do well as an active companion dog in the right home. Like any young Malinois, Letty will still need structure, training, exercise, and mental enrichment to thrive.
