Story
Are you in need of a wingman? Look no further than GOOSE! This 7 YO malinois-lab mix would no doubt be admitted to Top Gun academy. He's smart (reportedly potty trained and knows cues such as "sit"), athletic (Goose can play fetch all day long!), and looks cool in aviator sunglasses (okay, we haven't tested this one, but just look at him!). Goose is one of our longest-stay dogs, having waited 39 days already for a home. This is baffling, because he's such a charmer. One of Goose's favorite pastimes is curling up and listening to talk radio, bringing a whole new meaning to "Talk to me, Goose!" Great balls of fire! You just found the Goose to your Maverick! Set up a meet and greet with Goose (who's currently chilling in a foster home) today by contacting our adoptions team at (801) 261-2919 ext 227 or adoptions@utahhumane.org Goose is "pay what you can," and his adoption includes age appropriate vaccines, de-worming, and a gift bag of goodies to go home with him.

Story
Meet Bo Breed: Belgian Malinois / Mastiff Mix Sex: Male DOB: August 3, 2022 Weight: 70 Pounds Health: Healthy and doing well Bo is a handsome, intelligent boy with a big heart and an even bigger personality. This energetic Malinois/Mastiff mix combines the loyalty and devotion of both breeds with a playful spirit that makes every day feel like an adventure. Sadly, Bo has become one of the rescue’s long-timers, patiently watching other dogs leave for their forever homes while he continues to wait for someone to notice him. He deserves the chance to finally leave the shelter behind and start the life he’s been hoping for. Personality Bo is affectionate, loyal, and full of joyful energy. He loves interacting with people and thrives on connection and companionship. His playful personality keeps life fun, whether he’s enjoying a walk, learning something new, or simply spending time close to his humans. Bo forms strong bonds and becomes deeply devoted to the people he trusts. His sweet nature and loving heart make him a wonderful companion who truly wants to be part of a family. Breed Info A Belgian Malinois and Mastiff mix combines intelligence, strength, and loyalty. Malinois are known for their sharp minds, trainability, and desire to work closely with their owners, while Mastiffs bring calm confidence and deep devotion to their families. Dogs with this mix tend to be incredibly loyal and thrive when given both mental stimulation and physical activity. With structure and engagement, they become deeply bonded companions who love being involved in daily life. Owner Responsibilities Bo already has a foundation of basic training, but like many intelligent dogs, he will benefit from continued training and mental enrichment. Regular exercise such as daily walks, play sessions, and activities that challenge his mind will help keep him happy and balanced. Positive reinforcement training will strengthen the bond between Bo and his adopter while helping him continue to grow into a confident, well-mannered companion. &#226&#154&#160&#239&#184&#143 Things to Consider Before adopting Bo, it’s important to think about your long-term lifestyle and stability. Are pets allowed where you live now and in the future? If you move, will Bo move with you? Do you have the time each day to provide exercise, engagement, and companionship? Are you financially prepared for routine veterinary care, food, and unexpected medical needs? Dogs like Bo deserve a home that is committed to them for life. Vet Care Even though Bo is healthy, adopters should establish care with their own veterinarian soon after adoption. This helps ensure preventative care continues properly and provides a trusted medical partner for Bo’s long-term health and well-being. Understanding the 3-3-3 Rule Like most rescue dogs, Bo will need time to adjust to his new home. The first 3 days he may feel unsure as he decompresses from the transition. The first 3 weeks he will begin learning your routine and feeling more secure. By 3 months, his confidence will grow and his full personality will shine. Patience and consistency during this adjustment period will help Bo thrive. Why Bo? Bo has waited patiently for someone to see the amazing dog he truly is. He is loyal, playful, intelligent, and full of love to give. Long-timer dogs like Bo often become the most devoted companions because they know what it means to finally be chosen. The family who gives Bo his forever home will gain a faithful friend who will stand by their side through every adventure. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi my name is Wulfric! Age: estimated to be about 3 months old weight: about 20 pounds (but I’m still a little under weight so I get lots of extra treats!) I’m expected to get about 70 when full grown! Breed: presumably a Malinois mix my personality and colour leans closer to German shepherd so maybe a 50/50 mix! Potty training: it’s a work in progress I’m really good at peeing outside especially when treats are involved! But the excitement of being let out the crate can be too much for my little puppy bladder and especially in the morning I struggle to wait til we have made it outside. Wulfric is such a cool pup! he absolutely loves being with his people! But working hard on crate training so he’s ok and comfortable being by himself, he’s come a long way with lots of training! and will sleep through the night once settled into a new schedule. But structure and continued training will be very important for him! He currently gets multiple scheduled crate naps during the day and is trying hard not to complain! He’s a very smart and loyal boy he loves walks and play sessions but treats and snuggles are his favorite! He’s the perfect energy level he’ll hike and run if you want but is ok hanging out on lazy days too. At some point in his young life he did get an injury on his ear it’s totally ok now just sticks up a little odd but if anything it makes his more unique and adorable! He loves people and Kids especially! But working on no jumping manners, but he’s not mouthy at all. he’s gonna need training and patience (like most puppy’s) but he is already growing into the most amazing loyal dog. ✅ I’m good with other doggy’s! I’d love a chill calmer dog around to show me the ropes and keep me company when the people are away. But I can be a little timid around new dogs and have a gentle play style I love hanging with my pack but I’m more an introverted kinda guy. ✅ I’m very cool with cats we get each other ✌️ - I’ve met so many animals the only thing my foster would point out is not to leave me unsupervised around the little guys (particularly rabbits) I won’t try to break in to their area but free ranging moving toys can be fun when people aren’t around!
