Loki is up for ADOPTION! He came to us as an owner surrender due to housing issues, which we are encountering more and more of these days, it seems like. He needs socialization and a confidence boost, but he has gotten along with other pups so far! He's pretty terrified in the shelter, but once he goes out into the play yard, his free spirit opens right up! He's still a bit timid, but he's a smart cookie and should be a cinch to train! Meet Miss Maeve — a lovely 5-ish year-old Malinois who is settling into her foster home. Originally found as a stray and taken to a local shelter, she was adopted quickly once her hold was up. Unfortunately, due to her strong prey drive (especially toward cats), her new home just wasn’t the right fit. Maeve is still very malnourished and emaciated from her time as a stray. Since leaving the shelter she has been steadily putting on weight. With continued good nutrition, a loving environment, and a little time, she'll be back to the lively energetic dog she's meant to be. ✨ What we’re learning about Maeve: • Incredibly sweet temperament • LOVES attention and affection • A total cuddle bug • Will absolutely thrive with someone who understands the Malinois drive • Best suited to a cat-free home with structure and love Give this girl a little time, and she’s going to make an amazing companion. Looking to rehome our girl Arya, she is two years old and unfortunately we're not able to fulfill her needs. It is important that I note that she's never bitten anyone but she is a reactive dog and she does have an allergy problem but nothing too serious. She takes medication for it. She is very sweet and loving once she gets to know you she's just skittish at first but again she never bites, she's also of course very energetic ( her Belgian side). We're trying to find a very responsible and dog loving owner that can give her a lot of attention. I'm only available for calls after 5:00pm

Poor Tucker, his owner ended up in a nursing home, not coming out. Tucker had no where to go so he has ended up in our shelter. He was a pretty sad boy at first, slowly he is warming up to us and ready for a new home. He would do well in a home without small children. He did live with another dog who has already been adopted. Tucker is approx. 60 lbs. He is pretty much housetrained and quiet. Visit him at the Rockbridge Spca or email manager@rockbridgespca.net. heartworm tested: Negative visit our fb page: dogs of rockbridge and rockbridge spca. NOTE: all animals adopted are taken straight to a local veterinarian for spay/neuter. We do adopt out of area providing adopter is will to make more than one trip. There are NO exceptions, and we do not hold animals. All Kittens and puppies must weigh 2 lbs. for surgery and there are a limited number of veterinarians in our area that will do a pediatric spay/neuter. please note the Rockbridge Spca does not have emotional support animals or service animals. we do not adopt to college students, however, they are welcome to volunteer. a fenced area may be required.
