Story
Alex is a German Shepherd/Hound mix. He one of six left behind from a large litter. He was owner surrendered to BHS due to the owner could not find homes for all the puppies. He was born June 18, 2024. Alex has a copper tone look about his coat. The sun really brings out the copper shine. He appears to be one of the smaller pups in the litter. He has been with his siblings since birth and is now ready to have a family of his own. When out in the open yard he is very attentive to his foster mom. He comes when called and does not wander far. He is smart and is eager to learn. He is a puppy and does need to get plenty of exercise. He would do well with children that understand getting puppy jumps and nibbles. He gets along with other dogs. He has not been around cats but yet he is young enough to be trained to enjoy a cat's company. If you are looking to add a pup growing to large size and would become your best friend, Alex is the one for you. He has been dewormed, microchipped, on preventive for flea/tick, and has received the Distemper-Parvo combination vaccine. Until Alex is neutered, he is not available for adoption outside of the counties contiguous to Bedford County. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Athena! Athena is a beautiful dog and classic German shepherd. AKC certified, she ADORES obedience training and loves to learn new tricks! The quickest way to bond with her is to teach her a trick or run through her old ones! She has excellent recall off leash for the person she is bonded with and good recall for any other person. She does very well on car rides and enjoys hanging her head out. She loves long hikes off leash (hiking trails) and stays close to her group. Her current owner believes she would fit perfectly in a home with children who are trained on how to treat a large dog. A home without infants may be best as she still gets excitable and can easily knock over a toddler or switch their face with her tail. She loves fetch, tug of war, hide and seek and other such games and would love nothing more than to have the "job" of looking out for children off on adventures in the woods. If you are interested in Athena, please contact Hannah at (434) 907-4321 or email hannah08618@gmail.com
