Loki is a fantastic dog. We are moving out of state with family and cannot bring him so it breaks our hearts to rehome him. He is gentle and loving, just wants a place to snuggle. He loves treats and knows how to sit but knows no other tricks. Very calm and well mannerd. Barks at delivery men. Fully house trained. Does get car-sick.

Story
Hi, my name is Helga and I'm a 1-2 year old German Shepherd that is looking for my second chance! I can't wait to go home with you! I came to SVASC from a rough situation where I unfortunately wasn't getting a lot of attention, but now that I'm at the shelter, I'm getting so much love and I just can't get enough! I'm an active, pretty outgoing dog, who has yet to meet a stranger. I have done well meeting other dogs, but can play pretty rough, so just keep that in mind; SVASC also thinks that I would do okay with kids, but I am still working on my manners. I likely haven't ever lived indoors, so I might need some help getting settled, but I'm a super smart, loving girl, who is eager to please, so adjustment should be a breeze. My adoption fee is $125, which covers all of my vetting. If you would like more information on me, please give SVASC a call at (540) 943-5142, email SVASC at ewiles@co.augusta.va.us, or stop by during open hours and ask for Helga!

Story
Hi there, I'm Mrs. Baked Beans, and while my past may be a bit fuzzy, my future is crystal clear - I'm ready to find my forever home! As a 1-3-year-old spayed female of mixed heritage (German Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog/Husky/Australian Kelpie, they say), I've got a unique blend of traits that make me one-of-a-kind. I may have arrived at the shelter dragging a tie-out, but don't let that fool you - beneath my initial nerves lies a heart full of love waiting to be shared. I'm a bit cautious at first, taking my time to warm up to new faces, but once I've made a connection, I'm fiercely loyal. I thrive in a calm and quiet environment where I can be the center of attention, which is why I'd prefer a home without other pets or children, but don't let my reserved nature fool you - I'm house-trained, excellent on leash, and have never met a chew toy I couldn't resist. With my low energy and keen sense of awareness, I'm the perfect companion for someone seeking a loyal friend and a reliable guard dog for a single adult needing a BFF. So, if you're ready to welcome a devoted canine companion into your life, look no further than Mrs. Baked Beans - your new best friend awaits! My adoption fee is $175, which covers all of my vetting. If you would like more information on me, please give SVASC a call at (540) 943-5142, email SVASC at ewiles@co.augusta.va.us, or stop by during open hours and ask for Mrs. Baked Beans!

Story
Willow is guessed to be 3-4 years old and weighs 75 pounds. She appears to be housetrained and is crate trained but prefers to sleep beside your bed at night. With proper introduction, she should be able to get along with other dogs. The willow tree is a symbol of new life. A willow branch can be planted in the ground and from it, a new tree will grow in its place. Its ability to grow and survive is powerfully symbolic and shows we can thrive even in challenging conditions. Willow was given this name because of her strength and will to survive. She has the possibility of becoming a great companion that will never let you down. Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries.
