Story
Riker (A140613) is a 9-month-old Belgian Malinois x GSD mix who weighed 57.6 pounds on intake! 12/15/25 This energetic pup is Riker! Riker was surrendered to the shelter in hopes of finding a home that would provide him with the outlets he needs. Riker was described as a very active boy who can be destructive. He is smart but can be stubborn. We encourage his next owner to work with a certified trainer to see what works best for him and to provide him with that extra mental stimulation. Riker was said to be kennel-trained, housebroken, and to ride well in vehicles. He was known to have a few young dog, naughty habits, like getting into the trash, counter surfing, and jumping on people. They felt Riker would do best in a home without young children due to his habit of jumping up and his rough style of play. It was also noted that he has a high prey drive and would play a bit too roughly with the cats in the home. Riker would do best in a home without small animals to help set him up for success. He was stated to do well with larger dogs that had a similar play style to him! Appropriate introductions are key to success! Riker was also known to be a super chewer and his next owner will want to invest in appropriate chew toys to keep him stimulated and out of trouble! Riker is a young dog looking for the right home that can keep him out of trouble! If you are up for the challenge, please let us know! December 15, 2025, 4:06 pm

Story
Bear (A132238) is a 2-year-old GSD x Chow Chow mix who weighed 44.3 pounds on intake! 12/15/25 This shy but friendly guy is Bear! Bear was surrendered to the shelter due to no fault of his own, but because his owner was moving out of stated and unable to bring him with. Bear was said to be kennel-trained, housebroken, and rides well in a car! Bear was known to love to lounge on the couch but was used to being kenneled when left alone. Bear was said to do well with people of all ages including babies and children. However, he might bark if he hasnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t met you yet. He was stated to do well with cats but has not had much experience with other dogs. Please ensure you are making slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new animals to help set him up for success! Bear was known to be a bit of an opportunist and will get into the trash if left unsupervised. He was also known to be a talker and can even open doors. He is quite the character and would love to find his new people to love! If you are interested in meeting Bear, please let us know! 09/05/23 These four pups are eager to find their new places to call home! We do not know what all they are mixed with but believe the primary breeds are German Shepherd and Chow. If you are unfamiliar with those two breeds, we strongly encourage you to do the research prior to adopting. These pups can be a bit shy at first but once they have met you they become sweethearts and are very affectionate! They were said to have been working on crate and potty training in their prior home. They have also been working on a few basic commands but would still highly benefit from attending a basic obedience class to continue working on their manners and socialization! They were said to be curious of dogs and to do okay with cats in the past. Please ensure you are doing appropriate introductions with all new friends! If you are interested in meeting once of these pups and possibly making them a part of your family, please let us know!December 15, 2025, 5:34 pm

Story
Zion is a Shiloh Shepherd, he is 6 yrs old, came in to the rescue because his owner had passed away. Zion is under-socialized with people, other dogs and new environments. We are currently working on his lack of confidence as he is a pretty fearful boy. He doesn't enjoy car rides, as he will hunker down and hide while in the truck. He has had a lot of changes and we are slowly working on his fear issues. Due to his fears he will not be adopted to a home with children or a home who plans to have children, preferably be the only dog, a very low key home environment without a lot of people coming and going. Potential must have experience with Shepherds and must have a 6 foot (or higher) fence.
