How this pet arrived:Tootsie was brought in by a community member on October 15, 2025 Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Tootsie, an adorable young gal who arrived as a stray and is now now waiting to begin her next chapter! While she is still learning that the world is a friendly place rather than a scary one, we've already seen her start to trust her favorite people - especially when there are tasty treats and fun toys involved! Tootsie hasn't quite mastered the art of walking on a leash yet, so she'll need a home with a private, enclosed yard where she can feel secure while she practices her skills. She is looking for patient adopters who use positive reinforcement to help her blossom into a confident, happy pup, especially since she can sometimes give mixed signals while she's still figuring things out. An adopter who is skilled at reading body language and happy to move at her pace will find that once she warms up, she has an incredible amount of love to share. If you're ready to provide the collar, crate, and heart needed for her safe transition home, come meet this sweet girl today! At SDHS:Tootsie has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. He may be a little scared when he first meets new people, but give him a little time and patience and he warms up beautifully. Once he feels comfortable, Diesel shows his sweet, affectionate side and loves being near his people. He’s very treat-motivated, which makes bonding and training fun and rewarding. Diesel also walks well on a leash and enjoys getting out for strolls. With gentle guidance and a loving home, this handsome guy is ready to blossom into an amazing companion.
