Please do not make an appointment through our online booking calendar, as she is not available to meet on site.Say a quiet hello to Rosie! This gracious lady is consistently described as gentle, calm and affectionate. Being the centre of attention is not for Rosie - she`s happier quietly resting nearby while you work from home, or keeping you company in the car while watching the world go by. Rosie`s sweet personality extends to her house manners - she is relaxed indoors and can be trusted not to chew destructively when left alone. Members of Rosie`s circle of friends can look forward to movie night snuggles, long brushing sessions and the cutest little happy paws dance when you arrive home! But, while Rosie bonds hard, she does not give her trust easily. Rosie is a timid dog who requires time, consistency and patience to build bonds with new people. Loud noises, unexpected movements, and new objects can also trigger fear in Rosie, so a peaceful home with predictable routines and access to quiet, Rosie-only safe spaces will be important to ensure Rosie can relax and feel secure. Once comfortable, Rosie can easily be left home alone for longer periods, but her new adopters should plan on staying home with her for several days to help reduce her stress during the transition period. Rosie continues to make new strides in confidence every day. Right now, she`s working on figuring out what exactly a `zoomie` is really for. Max is on a foster to adopt sleepover! Wish him luck!Introducing our big friendly giant Max! This gorgeous guy is a certified shelter staff favourite and is basically just one REALLY enormous teddy bear. Max is incredibly social and will introduce himself to every new person unsolicited. Some people might mistake him for a young bear as he trots over to them for pets! He`s still an adolescent dog and is getting used to his growing adult body, so he can be rather clumsy. Watching him bound and zoom around is the most ridiculous sight! Despite being somewhat of a puppy, he is very well-behaved. He takes treats gently, walks loose on leash, goes to the bathroom outside for the most part and adapts well to new situations. He has even done well being alone for up to 3 hours! Max has never lived with children before, but has had positive interactions with toddlers. He has no history with cats or small animals, but has shown potential to live peacefully with them based on his laidback demeanor. In his previous home, he did live with a senior extra large dog for some time and there were no concerns! As a Newfoundland, it`s important that his future adopters can commit to regular grooming (seriously, it`s a full time job) and are willing to deal with some drool. Due to the heavy double coat, you may need to get creative to keep Max cool in the summertime. In short, Max is a dream and we know he won`t last long!Max is:- good with kids, supervised interactions required- unknown with cats, slow intros required- open to dogs pending successful intros, lived with senior XL dog before
