Anyone who has ever worked with rescue breeder dogs knows that some of the hardest souls to bring around are the breeder mommas. One can only imagine what their lives must have been like. We see them time and time again. Their little feet and legs stained halfway up from standing in urine and feces. Dogs who have spent so much of their lives confined to crates, never knowing the simple pleasures that most dogs take for granted. No soft bed. No loving arms. No understanding of what it means to simply be someone’s beloved pet. Those are the dogs that tug at our heartstrings the hardest. ❤️ And sometimes, even after they’re rescued, their journey to healing is far from over. Sometimes they land in a home that, despite the best intentions, simply isn’t the right environment for what they need emotionally. And that brings us to Daisy B. This beautiful little Bernedoodle girl was pulled from a shelter, but her journey is only beginning. Daisy B doesn’t need someone to fix her overnight. She doesn’t need a busy household, lots of visitors, or people expecting her to behave like a typical happy-go-lucky doodle. She needs PEACE. She needs PATIENCE. And most importantly, she needs someone willing to meet her exactly where she is. ❤️ WHAT DAISY B NEEDS: A quiet, peaceful home with no children. A patient, compassionate foster who understands that trust is earned, not demanded. Someone who will celebrate the smallest victories, even if that means simply watching her relax in the same room. She could potentially live with one other calm, appropriate dog or she is fine with being the only dog. Right now, we’re still learning what works best for her. She doesn’t mind other dogs, but she doesn’t actively interact with them either. Most importantly, someone who understands that a dog doesn’t have to be affectionate right away to be worthy of love. We have seen dogs like Daisy B blossom into the most extraordinary companions when given the right environment and the gift of time. And here’s something we’ve learned after years in rescue… Sometimes the dogs who need the most patience are the very dogs who end up changing our lives the most. Daisy B may never forget where she came from, but with the right person, she can learn that the rest of her life will be different. She deserves that chance. Daisy B could change your life and your outlook on what rescue truly means. Story
Charlie was adopted out as a puppy from us in January. He is being rehomed due to his large size and the fact that they have a weight limit. At the time of adoption, no one could have guessed he was going to be a large boy!!! We are posting him on our site, so folks can see what a good boy he is. His current family loves him, but they are keeping in standard with their HOA. Here is what they have to say about him: He’s a very sweet, very, very affectionate and playful dog. He loves playing fetch inside or outside, playing tug war with a towel or a chew toy, loves his morning and early evening walks and playing outside. He also loves playing with other dogs, he gets so excited that he doesn’t want to stop playing. He’s completely housebroken, pees and poops only outside with no accidents. He is crate trained, Goes in his crate by himself when directed.😍 He sleeps in his crate at night and does well with car rides. We’ve also worked with a great trainer, Charlie stayed in his dog school for a total of five weeks in two different instances. He obeys many commands: place, sit, down, stay, paw.😍 He still has a little difficulty with the commands “here” and “no”, but he’s getting there. He’s great with kids and he is all up to date on his vaccinations and preventive medication‘s like heartworm, and fleas and ticks (he takes Sentinel Spectrum once a month). He hasn’t been neutered yet, but we are working on that.I would say he has a standard level of energy, he loves his daily walk, but he sleeps a lot on our couch during the entire morning annd afternoon. Charlie is around 40-50 pds he is a year old so should not get any bigger. Hes a gentle soul, and is in need of a new forever family.. We are taking applications for him, currently in the Tampa area.
