Meet Finland — a gentle, soft-hearted two-year-old boy who’s figuring out life in a home and already proving what an amazing dog he’s going to be.   Finland isn’t afraid of people, but he is very timid right now as he adjusts to his new surroundings. What he doesn’t like is being alone — he cried in his crate when his foster stepped away, but the moment someone came back and sat near him, he settled instantly. He just wants to know he’s not alone, and that reassurance goes a long way for this sensitive guy.   He’s been very quiet with no barking or whining, and he seems to be potty trained. Any accidents he had were clearly just him marking territory, which should improve after neutering.   Finland is still finding his appetite — dry food and treats aren’t exciting to him yet, but he happily ate meat and even nibbled on breakfast once some broth was added. With time, he’ll likely grow more comfortable eating normally.   This sweet boy is also curious and well-mannered. He hopped up on the counters a couple of times but got down immediately when told. He’s already responding to simple commands like sit and come, and he hasn’t tried to jump on furniture at all.   Overall, Finland is good, gentle, and incredibly sweet — a sensitive soul who just needs patience, companionship, and someone willing to help him come out of his timid shell.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 8, 2025, 8:17 pm

MAXX & ME PET RESCUE adoptable dogs Stella is approximately 7 months old Great Pyrenees Mix who sadly has been rehomed and tossed about leading to her being timid by nature.  She seeks comfort in kind people and understanding, welcoming animals.  She has been fostered with another Great Pyr and cats and does great with the kitties.       Stella just underwent expensive double FHO surgery on her rear legs 7/15/22. She requires a home with NO STAIRS, someone home a lot, pool (she must do pool therapy 2 xs a day) per our vet for the next month or two. Since she was on kennel rest at our vet's office for several weeks, she has lost muscle mass and we must do physical therapy to help her rebuild it and get her back legs strong again. She is a very, very timid dog and a flight risk. She needs a foster to adopt family to continue her journey in building trust. She is very gentle and sweet, just a scared, beautiful pup!     She needs a foster to adopt family to continue her journey in building trust.    **Understanding and calm ADULT ONLY household **Fully and securely fenced yard  **Calm dog to help build confidence **cats optional, but she does have an affection for them! **Plan to work with trainer       Stella is UTD on vaccines, Spayed and microchipped. Adoption Donation is $350     Applications for Stella can be submitted at maxxandme.org. Please consider if your home and yard are of a sufficient size for a dog of this magnitude and breed. We certainly will when making decisions on her placement.       **Please follow up with an email to maxxandmerescue@gmail.com to verify receipt of application. **     Maxx and Me is an all volunteer, all foster home rescue and does not have a shelter. Please allow at least 48 hours for applications to be processed (missing information may slow the process, so please take your time and be thoughtful in your answers).
