Story
Hello from Texas! I am a pretty 6-month-old, 40-pound Bernese Mountain Dog/Labrador Retriever mix puppy named Bella, and I am looking for a forever home. My mama was a pregnant stray when she was found in the Rio Grande Valley (see her picture). She had 2 beautiful puppies on 8/18/25, my brother Scooby and I, and we have all been living in a foster home ever since. I am now spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to find a wonderful East Coast family! I am a very sweet and friendly girl with lots of playful energy, and I make friends easily with all people, young and old, and other dogs. I enjoy all the standard dog games like tug-o-war, chasing balls, romping and running with Scooby and my doggy friends, and chewing on doggy toys. I am very affectionate and snuggly, and I don't mind sharing kisses and getting some cuddle-time in, curled up on your lap like a lap dog, or snuggled next to my new senior doggy friend! I am just a wonderfully sweet girl, already housetrained, and just need some practice with leash walking. My foster dad says I am a sweet and obedient puppy who will make a wonderful addition to any family! Inquire about me today! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

These pups are in Beacon, New York too!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Tuff is a super sweetie with an extra thick, soft coat. You will LOVE running your fingers through his fur, and he will let you all day long! This little charmer loves to snuggle up next to his humans and give them kisses. He craves attention and is friendly to everyone he meets - there is no such things as a stranger to him! Tuff came into rescue with his five brothers, and all of them have young dog energy, enjoying an active lifestyle full of play and adventure. They are half Great Pyrenees, and 100% Good Boys! Tuff is almost fully leash trained, and rarely barks - just to alert his people to strangers or animals that have come onto the property. True to his Pyr nature, he is an independent thinker and curious. He knows “sit” and “down,” but sometimes takes a minute to perform, as he’s deciding if your reward is worth the effort (Tuff’s tip: bring out the peanut butter for best results when requesting a “sit”!). Tuff loves to play with toys, and adores goofing around with his brothers, so he sure hopes that his furever family includes a canine sibling for him to play with! He would love a 5.5’ fenced-in yard for running about and playing with his buddies. Tuff is seeking an active family with lots of love to give! NGPR Pooch Profile Name: Tuff in LA  Age: 2 yrs 7 mos old as of March 2026 Color: dark tan/gold and white  Dew Claws: yes, double  Estimated Adult Weight: 70 - 80 lbs  Current Location: NGPR approved foster in Kelly, LA Medical: Neutered, dewormed, negative for heartworm, up-to-date on vaccinations and currently on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. This dog travels with a Interstate Health Certificate required by the USDA confirming that all the above criteria have been met. Housebroken: likely yes - lives outside, but brought inside for several hours at a time without any accidents  Can be Placed With: Dogs, Kids, Cats Unknown  Fencing: Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed. *** Adoption Fee for Tuff if adopted locally without transport is $175. *** Fees: Adoption fees are determined on a sliding scale depending on age, location and transport. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. Fees for dogs adopted locally start at $400 and can range up to $700 for puppies under six months. Puppies placed on spay/neuter contracts receive $100 back when the dog is spayed or neutered. Fees for senior dogs (7 or older) and foster dogs will be adjusted accordingly. More Information: Questions? The fastest way to learn more about a dog is to fill out our Adoption Application. If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. March 7, 2026, 10:15 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Big Red is a handsome, chill, and gentle young pup with a thick and super-soft deep red coat. He adores attention from his people, and loves to be hugged and pet. When his foster mom feeds him and his brothers, he will leave his food and get up in her lap for lovings, and then run back and eat some more! Big Red came into rescue with his five brothers, and all of them have young dog energy, enjoying an active lifestyle full of play and adventure. They are half Great Pyrenees, and 100% Good Boys! Red is almost leash trained, knows “sit,” is learning “down,” and is a breeze to groom - he’s done well with brushing and bathing and showed no reaction to nail trims - What a good boy! This curious little boy has lots of energy, but he is not above snoozing on the couch. He will make a great guard dog, as he barks to alert his humans if he sees or hears something out of place. Some words of praise from his people will quiet him down. He’s great with dogs and loves to play with his brothers - “Chase” is a favorite game of theirs! Big Red’s ideal home will have a huge box of toys waiting for him (teddy bears are his favorite!), and be with an active family that includes a canine sibling for him to play with. Red enjoys meeting new people (he’s friendly with everyone!), receiving lots of treats (peanut butter is awesome!), and having a good chew on a marrow bone. Is laid-back Big Red the pup for you?! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Meet Dolly, a sweet and gentle Great Pyrenees girl who's ready to find her forever couch! This lovely lady is the perfect low-maintenance companion – she's completely housebroken, crate trained (though she doesn't need one), and knows basic commands like "sit" and "come." Dolly is a tripod after losing a back leg from being hit by a car, but don't let that fool you – she gets around beautifully and just occasionally needs a little boost into the car for her favorite activity: going for rides! With her extremely patient and friendly nature, Dolly gets along wonderfully with other dogs, including the energetic 10-pound Shih Tzu in her foster home who tries to play with her all day long. She walks okay on leash, has no desire to escape her fenced yard, and doesn't dig. Like a true Pyr, she'll announce visitors with enthusiastic barking until they settle in, then she's all about soaking up attention and pets. Dolly has met a teenager without any issues, and prefers spending her days inside, chilling on the sofa with her people before heading to bed early each evening. Her ideal home has a 5-foot fence, and is with someone who appreciates a gentle homebody (not a hiking partner), who will spoil her with cheese, bacon, and eggs, shower her with nose kisses, and tell her every day just how beautiful she truly is – because this patient, loving girl deserves all the adoration in the world!
