Millie came from a Newfie breeder that had a female get out of the yard while in heat for about 30 minutes. She bred her to another Newfie but when the pups were born something wasn't right. She DNA tested her and she has golden retriever and bloodhound in her as well as newfie. So she turned to us for help placing them in loving homes. We still have 3 girls available and they were born on Feb 19. Millie has the most perfect eyes! And she is definitely a poser. She can be prissy but she can also play hard! She also loves the water. I have an Adoption Pending but hope you will consider one of our other dogs in need. Thank you! This 3-year-old gentleman has learned the hard way that forever isn't always truly forever, but he refuses to give up hope! We thought we had found Apollo's forever home, but his recent family neglected to secure the doors to their home, and Apollo wound up on the front lawn. At the same time, their neighbor's 5 large dogs were off-leash in their front yard. Apollo was attacked and wound up with several puncture wounds. We are so thankful he did not lose his life, but this was clearly NOT a safe home for our boy! And so this sweet boy is now in need of a true forever home where he can be someone's one and only dog. Apollo is one of the sweetest dogs we have had in our care. He is super chill and just wants to hang out with his humans and cuddle. He enjoys spending time in the yard, and we are seeking a home for him with a physically fenced yard so he can sniff in all the good scents to his heart's content. Apollo walks well on the leash and knows his basic commands. He is not a fan of thunder, but then again, most dogs (and humans) are not. Apollo is in a wonderful foster home in AL, and his foster mom shares such lovely details about this handsome honey-boy. "Apollo has been great for us. He's a big, sweet baby who just needs some love and understanding. Apollo is very curious and may curiously dash at the cats to get a sniff, but he listens when you tell him to stop; he's very obedient!" "You can tell he just wants to be good and do right. He wants to be right where you are at all times. He's definitely not a fan of thunder, though, so if it's raining or thundering, he wants to be held, and he may not even eat til the weather passes. But he does eat very well once he's comfortable and feels safe. I think he just takes time to adjust. Overall, he is a gentle giant and would make someone a great companion!" Apollo is believed to be a St. Bernard mix, maybe with some Newfie, and he weighs about 85 lbs. Whatever breeds he may be, he is GORGEOUS with his beautiful black coat and white blaze on his chest! His paws even have some white spots on them as though Apollo stepped in some paint! Just look at how handsome Apollo is with his red bandana. He is one of the COOLEST dogs ever! Apollo is a young dog who will benefit from continued guidance in his leash skills and basic commands to help him bond with his humans and feel more confident, especially after his sad past experience. He didn't do anything wrong, but he lost his home, and he deserves to feel loved and become his best handsome, sweet self. He adores attention from his people, and loves to be hugged and pet. When his foster mom feeds him and his brothers, he will leave his food and get up in her lap for lovings, and then run back and eat some more! Big Red came into rescue with his five brothers, and all of them have young dog energy, enjoying an active lifestyle full of play and adventure. They are half Great Pyrenees, and 100% Good Boys! Red is almost leash trained, knows “sit,” is learning “down,” and is a breeze to groom - he’s done well with brushing and bathing and showed no reaction to nail trims - What a good boy! This curious little boy has lots of energy, but he is not above snoozing on the couch. He will make a great guard dog, as he barks to alert his humans if he sees or hears something out of place. Some words of praise from his people will quiet him down. He’s great with dogs and loves to play with his brothers - “Chase” is a favorite game of theirs! Despite a very difficult start to his life, Snow Bear has endured and retained his sweet spirit. He is currently in boarding, so he would love either a foster or furever home. He’s happiest lounging in the sunshine, getting brushed, and hanging out with his dog friends.
