Story
This beautiful soul has been on an incredible journey, enduring a challenging stay at the shelter, waiting and hoping for a loving forever home. Despite his stunning looks and heartwarming personality, Apollo remained overlooked for months. He's a dog who's seen the worst of it yet still holds onto hope and love. Finally liberated from the confines of the shelter, Apollo's enthusiasm for life knows no bounds. His heart is filled with joy, and he's ready to share that boundless affection with a family who sees the gem he truly is. Apollo's a big boy with an even bigger heart. He adores the company of other dogs and revels in playtime. However, he thrives on structure, guidance, and plenty of activity. Smart as a whip, Apollo's intelligence and quick learning skills will astound you. This sweet boy, at around 6-7 years old and weighing around 70lbs, deserves a home that matches his spirit—a place with experienced, loving humans who understand the needs of a larger dog like him. If your heart swells at the thought of giving Apollo the home he dreams of, please consider fostering or adopting him. Start the journey by filling out an application at www.scoutshonor.org. Your love and compassion could be the key to unlocking Apollo's happily ever after. Story
Maple is an absolute sweetheart. She came from an abusive background, chained and unloved, since puppyhood. We haven't had her long, but she has opened up so amazingly, showing off her wonderful, playful personality, in such a short period of time. We are currently hoping to either find little Maple an amazing forever home, or an awesome foster that's willing to take her on. She is completely up to date on all of her shots, including rabies, and microchipped. She did initially not understand that she wasn't supposed to potty inside, but within just two days, she quickly learned her foster siblings routine and mastered potty training with ease! The only thing we have yet to do is get her spayed, but that will be scheduled as soon as possible. If you would like to get to know this sweet girl, please don't hesitate to reach out by contacting us directly or filling out the form attached to our profile. We hope to hear from you soon! PS. Fee will be waved if you show proof of your own scheduled spay appointment.

Breed: Great Pyrenees Age: Estimated 5 yrs old Neutered Male Up to date on vaccinations and preventatives Heartworm positive – thriving on slow-kill treatment Bandit’s story began on the streets of Houston, where he was found dodging traffic just days before the January snowstorm. He was in rough shape, suffering from a serious infection—but this resilient guy has made an incredible recovery and is now thriving in his foster home. True to his breed, Bandit is a calm, gentle soul with a sweet and affectionate nature. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and even cats, and he’s always up for an adventure—whether it’s a stroll through town or a car ride with his foster mom. Bandit is neutered, fully vetted, and receiving monthly preventatives. While he is heartworm positive, he’s doing exceptionally well on our slow-kill protocol and is on the path to full recovery. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion who’s already come a long way and is ready to live the good life, Bandit might just be your perfect match. ------------------------------------------------ Ground transport assistance may be available within 1K miles depending on where you live and the availability of volunteer drivers along the route. Story
MEET "BRYN" TEXAS, HOUSTON; FOSTER OR FOSTER-TO- ADOPT LOCATION: ALVIN, TEXAS EMAIL: BigPawsK9FosterHouse@gmail.com AVAILABLE FOR: FOSTER ASAP or FOSTER TO ADOPT NAME: "BRYN" DOB: 07/4/2025 BREED: GREAT PYRENEES X HOUND GENDER: MALE SIZE: LARGE/XLGE HEALTH: GOOD, HEALTHY, is having TPLO W/ PLATE & MPL surgery 2/12/2026 GOOD WITH: FEMALE DOGS, SHY WITH PEOPLE AT FIRST Bryn was born wild, not by choice, but by circumstance. He came into this world in a National Forest north of Houston, one of 21 dogs trying to survive where survival is never guaranteed. His dad, a Great Pyrenees. His mom, a Hound. The forest may look beautiful to us, but for dogs, it’s hell. Hunger. Fear. And people who see living beings as targets. Bryn was shot. He carries three pellets still lodged in his body. He also has a severe knee injury, likely from running for his life. And as if that weren’t enough, Bryn is dealing with a painful condition where his body isn’t functioning the way it should, his penis does not fully retract. The veterinary team is hopeful this issue is neurological and that repairing his knee may also correct it. If not, Bryn will require additional surgery, using skin from another area of his body to create a protective flap. He is scheduled for surgery on 1/29/2026. Somehow, through all of this pain and trauma, Bryn never gave up. He survived the forest. He survived cruelty. He waited. Now Bryn is finally safe, but his fight isn’t over yet. Next Thursday, Bryn will undergo surgery. We’re hoping his knee can be repaired with a simple MPL procedure, but if the damage is more extensive, it may require TPLO surgery with hardware, significantly increasing the cost. Either way, this surgery is the difference between a lifetime of discomfort and complications, or a future where Bryn can heal fully and live without constant pain. Bryn has already endured more than any dog ever should. Now he needs us to be the reason his story changes. Please consider donating toward Bryn’s surgery (Thursday January 29th) and recovery. Every dollar helps give this brave boy not just relief, but the chance at a life where he can finally feel safe, whole, and loved. ❤️. ------------------------------------------------ Ground transport assistance may be available within 1K miles depending on where you live and the availability of volunteer drivers along the route.
