Story
This beautiful soul has been on an incredible journey, enduring a challenging stay at the shelter, waiting and hoping for a loving forever home. Despite his stunning looks and heartwarming personality, Apollo remained overlooked for months. He's a dog who's seen the worst of it yet still holds onto hope and love. Finally liberated from the confines of the shelter, Apollo's enthusiasm for life knows no bounds. His heart is filled with joy, and he's ready to share that boundless affection with a family who sees the gem he truly is. Apollo's a big boy with an even bigger heart. He adores the company of other dogs and revels in playtime. However, he thrives on structure, guidance, and plenty of activity. Smart as a whip, Apollo's intelligence and quick learning skills will astound you. This sweet boy, at around 3 years old and weighing between 60-65lbs, deserves a home that matches his spirit—a place with experienced, loving humans who understand the needs of a larger dog like him. Living in Houston, Apollo has bravely battled heartworm, a common challenge in these parts. But fear not, Scout’s Honor is ensuring Apollo receives the best care. Whether you choose to adopt him now or after he's cleared, we'll continue covering his medical expenses, ensuring he gets the care he needs. He's a fighter and with your support, he'll come out stronger than ever. If your heart swells at the thought of giving Apollo the home he dreams of, please consider fostering or adopting him. Start the journey by filling out an application at www.scoutshonor.org. Your love and compassion could be the key to unlocking Apollo's happily ever after. Story
Atlas is exquisitely handsome. He probably knows this too. Even though he came to CAP as a stray, he is happy and confident. He weighs 78 pounds and probably has a ways to go. He uses his strength and weight to lead you along while on a leash as he curiously checks out his surroundings. He is easygoing and attentive. His finder say he was friendly with his young child but we recommend he go into a home with older kids because of his enthusiastic jumping up to get close. He is incredibly friendly with everyone and wants to get close. We haven't seen him interact with other dogs yet. He might know something about house training because he frequently does his business outside. He enjoys being petted. Please make this his lucky day by offering him the home and family he deserves. My name is Ted, but mostly my hooman calls me Big Guy. I'm maybe 3 years old. I wandered into my hoomans front yard trailing my leash, but a search near and far hasn't found my people. So here I am looking for a new forever home! I come mostly when called unless I am busy sniffing something I love in the big back yard; I also sit and shake on command. I'm very treat motivated and will sit and wait until told it's OK before gently taking the goodie from my person. I use the doggy door like a pro and love to get brushed and petted, often laying my head on my hoomans lap. I'm a great watch dog and protector of my person. I need a family to love me!
