Story
Meet Apollo, This handsome fluff was a shelter favorite!  He had been in the shelter for MONTHS and everyone passed right by him!  He is good with dogs and likes to play.  He was very happy to get sprung from the shelter!  He's a big boy and sweet, but needs to go to a home with rules and structure and plenty of exercise. He is very smart and a quick learner.  He would do best in a home with an experienced large dog owner. This sweet boy is about 3 years old and weigh between 60-65lbs. No surprise here in Houston, Apollo is heartworm positive, but don’t worry. Scout’s Honor is taking care of that for him and if you want to adopt Apollo before he's all clear (which would be great!) we will continue to cover the expense of his medicine and next heartworm check. We can explain it all but he's going to be just fine.       If you are interested in fostering or adopting, please complete an application at www.scoutshonor.org. My name is Ted, but mostly my hooman calls me Big Guy. I'm maybe 3 years old. I wandered into my hoomans front yard trailing my leash, but a search near and far hasn't found my people. So here I am looking for a new forever home! I come mostly when called unless I am busy sniffing something I love in the big back yard; I also sit and shake on command. I'm very treat motivated and will sit and wait until told it's OK before gently taking the goodie from my person. I use the doggy door like a pro and love to get brushed and petted, often laying my head on my hoomans lap. I'm a great watch dog and protector of my person. I need a family to love me! Story
Phoenix came to us on mothers day when a neighbor witnessed him colapse in a field. We went to find him and due to all of the rain the fire department had to come help us get him safely across a 3 foot ditch of rushing water. Phoenix was so emaciated and anemic he could barely stand. It has now been several weeks and Phoenix has a new lease on life. He is outgoing and loves meeting his fans. He also loves his food and is ighly food motivated. We believe he is aproximately 5 years old. Phoenix is very loving with everyone. He is a curious boy who loves to patrol the yard and let you know if anything is out of place. ##1738260##

Story
Cotton was adopted out by us as a puppy and returned nearly a year later as his family had no time for him. They crated him for many hours at a time and as you may imagine, he is not a fan of crates! He has been at a great in a home boarding facility for months now and has accepted the family who takes care of him. He is wary of strangers and will take a while to adjust and warm up to a new family. Cotton is playful- he loves water and is protective of his "people". He will do great in a home where someone has time and patience to win his trust! He is just over a year old and deserves a wonderful life after his rough start. Cotton is playful when with other dogs who want to play. He knows not to interrupt conference calls and loves to settle down next to you when you're working from home. He also really enjoys being outside and being goofy. His ideal family would be an active family who will take him for hikes or to the dog park and who will love him. Cotton needs a bit of work on his walking on a leash but he is a smart guy and will learn quickly. He loves to be brushed and play in water! We're not 100% sure if he is potty trained as he spends a lot of time outside with his current foster in TX but it will be very easy to train him. Cotton is about 1 1/2 years old, fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Because of his size and initial shyness, a home without little kids is preferred
