Story
Meet Prince, the charming Bichon Frisé tipping the scales at 22 pounds. With a zest for life and a heart full of curiosity, Prince thrives on spending time with his canine companions, joyfully exploring the play yard during puppy parties. Treats are a highlight of his day, and he eagerly accepts them from his caretakers with a wagging tail. A curious adventurer, Prince is always on the lookout for new discoveries, peeking through the holes of his kennel during any off-site trip and seeking out new adventures around every corner. While he may initially be a bit nervous, he quickly warms up to kind and gentle friends, showcasing his affectionate nature. Though not yet a master leash-walker, Prince is eager to learn and can certainly be taught. Ready to bring love and laughter into his forever home, Prince awaits his chance to be adopted from National Mill Dog Rescue. Could you be the one to welcome this spirited explorer into your life?- - - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, many of these dogs come around with patience and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Story
Bubby is guessed to be a 7 yr old Bichon/Toy Poodle mix around 10 lbs, and he is a lovebug! He loves to cuddle, and is really playful. He trots around with a proud strut, taking in his surroundings. He even knows how to use the dog door! Bubby would do great with other dogs to show him how to dog, but it isn’t necessary! He enjoys hanging outside, as well as napping in a cozy bed, where he's happy to sleep through the night. He is intelligent, curious, and affectionate - all the qualities that will make an excellent companion! Apply today to meet him at our Wellington location.

Please contact Constance (connibouchard@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Rescued dogBiography Important Information Please read! If you are interested in me after reading about me, please visit my site, http://www.breederadoptions.org and follow the instructions. The majority of the dogs we rescue, mostly breeder dogs, have lived their entire lives in less-than-ideal conditions so will need to be socialized, house and leash trained. Most have never lived in a house, walked on a leash, had a treat or sat in a lap. For many of them, their feet have never touched the ground after living for years on wire until they arrive at our main facility where they are evaluated, groomed and given vet care. Most of these dogs are not socialized and need to be cornered to be picked up, so are not suitable for people with physical disabilities or suffer from PTSD. They need folks who will make them the center of their world and help them learn to trust before even attempting to train.  Please do not apply if you do not meet the requirements of the dogs we rescue.  However, they will learn with time, love, patience and most of all, commitment. You must have an ample supply of all of these to reap the rewards of watching these very special dogs become your wonderful companion. We state any known health issues, all are altered unless there is a medical reason not to, which we will advise, any known medical issues addressed, are microchipped, are UTD on all vaccines and have been checked out by at least one veterinarian, usually two. We do not guarantee the health of any of our rescued dogs. The dogs we rescue have lived with other dogs all of their lives and most get along with other dogs. We state if they are dog aggressive. We require a permanent, full-time parent. That means you must be able to spend the majority of your time with your new companion to socialize and train. We do not, under any circumstances, place them in homes with young children as they have not been exposed to children and we do not know how they will react. Please do not waste your time or ours if you are not prepared to adopt within 2 weeks and you are not willing to pick the dog up at its location. Hi! My name is Rocky, and I am a little Bichon Frise boy who is 7 years old, and I weigh 10 pounds. I need a quiet home and a sibling to help me learn the ropes in this big, new world. If you have been waiting for a little Bichon, please ask for me on your application to http://www.breederadoptions.org. Love, Rocky 041523-31  April 25, 2024, 9:49 pm

Story
Miss Honey is a very sweet Bichon Frise/mix and weighs approximately 18lbs (she's a tad bit overweight). She loves to play and receive attention! She is completely blind (no eyes), housebroken, spayed and received a dental, microchipped and UTD on all vaccines. She is 10-12 years old. Honey would like to be an "only child" but she also does great around her foster siblings. She does fine around other dogs as long as she has had time to adjust. She will sometimes startle easily and has snapped at dogs or a person (out of fear, just a correction is needed). We recommend that she not be with small dogs. The following information is from Miss Honey's foster mom: "When Miss Honey first came to us, she was confused. Her eyes were painful and she had just left a home where she had possibly spent her entire life. We weren't sure if she had been around other dogs, so that was an adjustment. She was shy and didn't really know how to react toward other dogs - she would growl, but would also be wagging her tail. She would snap by shaking her head at other dogs and not attack, but she's not actually aggressive. Miss Honey has had a dental and both of her eyes removed. She's very happy She takes the stairs like a champ. She's very loving and a great cuddler, She will walk on a leash with her person as long as you guide her by voice & leash. She does well with a routine. Oh and when she barks, her ponytail ears flop away! Honey is really the best little dog and gets around so well despite being blind. She can go up and down stairs once she knows her area. Honey is terrified of thunder, fireworks and loud noises. She’ll start circling and pacing, all you would need to do is remove her from the area that she’s in. Quiet is all she needs."
