Story
Meet Jemma! She is a middle-aged Bichon with a soft spirit and a very sweet heart. She does well with other dogs and has a calm, gentle presence. Jemma was rescued from a neglectful breeding situation in Arkansas during freezing temperatures, where her only purpose had been to produce puppies. Thankfully, that chapter of her life is over. Now safe, Jemma is learning what trust and kindness truly mean. She prefers a slow, gentle approach and will thrive in a calm, peaceful environment. Jemma will need patience and time to open up as she learns how to be her own dog and discovers the joys of life as a loved pet in a real home. Beneath her shy demeanor is a sweet girl who wants nothing more than comfort, consistency, and love. With a patient, understanding family, Jemma will continue to blossom and become a devoted companion. If you’re looking for a gentle soul who deserves a quiet, loving home, Jemma may be the perfect match

Story
Meet Solstice, a 4-year-old Bichon Frise who came to Big Dog Ranch after being rescued from a puppy mill in Missouri. Her past life offered very little in the way of kindness or human connection, so she’s learning—slowly and gently—that people can be safe and loving. Because of her background, Solstice is very shy and timid. Sudden movements or loud noises easily frighten her, and she is considered a flight risk. She will need a calm, patient adopter who has prior experience with dogs, particularly shy or fearful ones. Solstice has a low energy level and would thrive in a peaceful home with consistent routines and minimal chaos. She’s good on a leash, gets along well with other dogs, and is hypoallergenic—making her a great fit for someone sensitive to allergens. Due to her fearfulness and history, Solstice is not suitable for a home with children. However, she would do well with a senior or a quiet individual or couple in an apartment or condo setting. With time, patience, and understanding, Solstice has the potential to blossom into a sweet and loyal companion. She just needs someone who can meet her where she is—and help her feel safe enough to grow!

Story
**ALL ADOPTIONS INCLUDE A HOME VISIT. YOU MUST LIVE IN BROWARD & PALM BEACH COUNTIES** Meet Krypto: A Soft-Hearted Companion Ready to Bond Newly rescued and beginning a fresh chapter, Krypto is a 2-year-old Bichon–Poodle mix weighing 14 pounds of pure affection. He is the kind of dog who gently wraps his front legs around your arm while you hold him, not out of neediness but out of connection. He leans in. He chooses closeness. And when he kisses you, he means it. Krypto is wonderful with small dogs, cats, and respectful children over 8 years old. He has an easygoing nature, yet he forms deep attachments to his people. He enjoys being near you, a soft “Velcro” presence, while still honoring your space. He would truly flourish in a home where someone is home often, allowing him to settle in at a comfortable pace and feel secure in his new routine. As with any newly rescued dog, Krypto will need time to adjust to unfamiliar surroundings. Even confident, loving dogs can feel uncertain in a new environment. Patience, consistency, and gentle leadership will allow his true personality to unfold beautifully. Dog-experienced adopters who understand decompression periods and structured bonding will see how special he truly is. Krypto is healthy and ready for his forever home. His lower body is currently shaved due to previous coat neglect, but his soft curls will grow back with regular monthly grooming, which is essential for his hypoallergenic coat. Though his grooming was overlooked, he was loved, and now he’s ready for a home that combines affection with attentive care. He would happily be your travel companion, your errand buddy, your couch snuggler, and your loyal shadow. If you have the time, patience, and heart to invest in a dog who gives back tenfold, Krypto is waiting to wrap his paws around you. This dog's adoption fee is $600 to go towards their vetting (vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm/Ehrlichia/Lyme test, fecal test, pre-op blood work, dental cleaning, and microchip as well as grooming if needed). If you are interested, please fill out the adoption application. For additional information regarding our adoption process, please check our FAQ's Page.   *All dogs in the care of Get a Life Pet Rescue live in loving foster homes while waiting for their perfect match. They don't live in cages or crates (unless there is a medical reason to do so.) They are treated as family pets while in our care. * All dogs in our care are fed premium brand holistic food as well as supplements and vitamins specific to each dog's needs. We don't buy inexpensive bulk dry kibble; our rescues are fed premium wet food diets as part of a comprehensive rehabilitation program to ensure maximum health. .*All of our rescues receive complete quality vetting, including full dental cleaning with pre-op bloodwork, spay/neuter, vaccines, and grooming. Dogs in need of specialized medicine will be seen by specialists, such as full cardiac workups, and ophthalmologist visits, all suspicious lumps and bumps are biopsied, and every medical need is transparent to potential adopters. *Once you adopt from Get a Life Pet Rescue, you become part of our compassionate family, and we are here for you if a problem with your precious dog arises. ##2658955##

Story
Hi! Meet Lola! She is our sweet, energetic, loving, Bichon-Poo that we purchased at 8 weeks old in January 2021. My husband at the time really wanted a dog in preparation for us having a child. Now that my husband is no longer in the picture, my son and I unfortunately have to re-home her as we are moving in with family where dogs unfortunately are not welcome. Lola loves to cuddle. She loves to play ball and she sometimes has a "witching hour" when she runs around the house and gets really hyper. It's so cute and it makes my son laugh every single time. She's a great eater and also loves human food. She is accustomed to sleeping with us on the bed and cuddling on the couch. She's very intelligent. She lets you know when she's ready to go outside by tapping on the door. She wakes up and always gives her famous kisses to everyone around. She's so playful and loving. She loves car rides and running. She needs a great home with loving people. We will always love her. :(

Story
Meet Jax- He's an incredibly cool senior boy who is laid back and easy to love. He just turned 14 and is still going strong! Jax is a Bichon Frise, 13 pounds and already neutered and fully vaccinated. He lets you know when he needs to go out to the bathroom, loves all the humans he meets and is good with most other dogs. Jax does not have any teeth, and rather than opt for dentures, he has chosen to embrace the Gene Simmons look!   Jax would be an amazing dog for another active senior! Jax is available for adoption at www.chesed-rescue.org/adoptions. We background and vet check and are looking for stable homes. February 13, 2026, 1:04 pm

Story
We took William in after I dog sat for him a few times and his owner couldn’t keep him anymore. He’s a great dog, good with everyone, kids, pets etc. We are too busy with our schedules to keep him. He’s an old man that is so sweet. We want him to find a loving home that can spend time with him more than we can. He will lay next to you or on your lap all day if allowed

Story
Lambeau is a lovable 9yr old pup. He gets along with other dogs and loves his daily snuggles. He would do best in a home with no small children. Someone with experience with pups that can become VERYterritorial over their humans. a first session by our trainer will be provided with adoption to insure a proper transition for Lambeau and his new family.
