You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Brooks! Brooks and his friend were found by a kind-hearted person and brought to us when no owner could be located. We did our best to find where they belonged, but unfortunately no one ever came forward to claim them.  Brooks is a sweet, friendly boy who loves being close to his people. If you're looking for a lap dog, Brooks is happy to apply for the job. He enjoys attention, affection, and spending time with his family. He gets along with other dogs and is generally friendly with other pets, but can be bossy and try to be intimidating. Brooks can be a little resource protective at times with other dogs, too. Otherwise he does well and currently is rooming with 3 other dogs.  His adoption fee is $400 and includes his neuter, vaccinations, microchip, a negative 4DX test, and he is current on ProHeart 12 and Bravecto. If you'd like to make Brooks part of your family, please apply at www.adoggie4you.org. Brooks is currently in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, Kentucky, and locations along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. Meet Autumn! 🍂 Autumn is an 11-year-old Poodle mix and the definition of a true Golden Girl. At just 15 pounds, this sweet senior is looking for a loving home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by comfort, companionship, and all the love she deserves. Don't let her age fool you. Autumn still has plenty of life and spunk! She enjoys going for walks, keeping up with her people, and then settling in for what she does best: being the ultimate cuddle buddy. Whether you're binge-watching your favorite Netflix series or enjoying a quiet evening at home, Autumn is always happy to be right by your side. Autumn is wonderful with dogs, cats, and children, making her an easy addition to just about any family. She is crate trained, well-mannered, and knows how to be a respectful house guest. She does best when given regular potty breaks and will usually let you know when she needs to go outside. She prefers going outdoors and may have an accident if left too long without a potty break. This sweet girl was surrendered by her previous owner, and we would love nothing more than to see her find the forever family she deserves. A family that will spoil her with love, soft beds, belly rubs, and all the attention a girl could want. Autumn does have a history of pancreatitis, so she will need to remain on a low-fat diet and avoid table scraps and excessive treats. Thankfully, she is doing great, is healthy for her age, and is an excellent eater. If you're looking for a loyal companion, a professional snuggler, and a best friend who will love you unconditionally, Autumn may be the perfect match. Autumn is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and current on heartworm and flea prevention. Minty's big dream is to one day become a professional opera singer, and she's passionate about sticking to her practice regimen. While this doesn't make her a great match as an apartment dog, she is a lover of all people, and will eagerly push her way onto whatever available lap she can reach.OTHER PETS: Minty was comfortable around the other dogs she met, but she was way more interested in greeting the people around her and convincing them to give her the undivided attention she deserves. [Case-By-Case (Must Meet First)]OWNER EXPERIENCE: While Minty is a fairly easy going dog, someone that has some experience with or doesn't mind a barky dog would be her best fit. Experience with positive reinforcement or willingness to learn, will help Minty blossom and build confidence. [First Dog]KIDS: Minty has been comfortable with handling at TJO and hasn't shown any signs of resource guarding, so she could possibly be a good fit for a family with kids. However, interactions between children and dogs should always be actively monitored to ensure that both parties remain comfortable and safe. [Case-By-Case (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Minty hasn't shown much interest in playing with toys, but she loves running around and playing with her people! Once in a home and able to decompress, an enthusiasm for toys may develop especially with the guidance of her people. There's never a day where she's not up and ready to head out in the morning, greeting the sun with a grin and a go-getter attitude. A combination of regular exercise, combined with mental enrichment such as food puzzles, scent games, and learning new tricks will help fully meet her needs. [Good Walking Buddy]VETERINARY CARE: Minty arrived at TJO with some mild skin issues, early cataracts, and some mammary masses that we are currently looking into, so she will need someone that has an established relationship with a vet to ensure that she continues to get the care that she needs to be happy and healthy. [Above Average]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Minty is still figuring out the world and will do best learning with someone who can offer patience while she adjusts. Positive reinforcement will help Minty not only learn new skills and fun tricks, but also help her to bond with her new owner as well.
