Story
Meet Shirley, a lovely senior Bichon with the softest spirit and the sweetest heart. After the sad passing of her beloved owner, Shirley is looking for a gentle home where she can feel safe and cherished again.Though her vision and hearing are limited, Shirley’s happiness most certainly is not. She greets the world with joy, a wagging tail, and a deep love for her little pleasures - her treats. Shirley’s is a smart little lady with an excellent sense of smell, enjoys her walks, and truly lights up during enrichment time.Shirley recently had a dental surgery at WARL thanks to our dedicated veterinary team, and she’s feeling so much better. She loves being picked up and cuddled, has done well around cats, and doesn’t seem to mind other dogs of her size..This gentle angel is simply searching for a soft place to land—a home filled with kindness, cozy naps, and people who will treasure her golden years. If you are interested in adopting Shirley, please come to the shelter on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 12-4pm. If you are unable to come during those times, please email dogs@worcesterarl.org to see what other times/days are available by appointment.

Story
Mia is a tiny, loving pup who’s been hanging out in foster care while recovering from surgery to remove bladder stones—and she’s doing great! Because of her medical history, Mia will need to stay on a lifetime prescription urinary diet to help keep her healthy and feeling her best. We also require a vet reference for her adoption, just to make sure she continues getting the care and food she needs. In foster, Mia has shown what a total cuddle bug she is. Her foster mom says she’s pee pad trained, crate trained at night, and happiest when she’s glued to her person’s side. Seriously—if you’re looking for a little shadow who will follow you from room to room and keep you company all day, Mia is your girl. Her activity level is pretty low; she’s perfectly content to lounging around, napping, and soaking up affection most of the day. Mia can be a bit barky and nervous when meeting new people, but don’t let that fool you—she warms up quickly. Mia prefers to be the only dog in the home and this way she can be a single spoiled child. If you’re looking for a calm, cuddly, devoted little companion who just wants to be near her person and live the cozy life, Mia might be your perfect match Ready to Adopt?
