Story
Popcorn is about 18 lbs., 14 years old and according to Google lens, a West highland terrier. Animal Care Services thought he was a Maltese mix and foster mom thinks he could be a Schnauzer/Maltese mix but knows for sure that he is the cutest scruffy EVER!!! His journey hasn't been all snuggles and treats as he lived on someone's apartment patio for years, lying in poop, grass and other debris until Animal Care Services came for him and God's Dogs Rescue was able to save the little scamp. While he still loves his humans, other gentle pups his size (cats unknown) and his squishy toys and chewy, understandably he has a few emotional scars especially regarding vet visits and grooming. Slow, patient progress in these areas has helped him be more confident, but will need a patient adopter to help him adapt. Things that make Popcorn super happy are spending time with his humans after he gets to know them, car rides and walks in the park. He loves, loves his squishy toys and generally carries one around with him. His most favorite game is for his person to chase him and pretend to take his squishy away. He also like to run zooms and if there isn't a person to play with he will often throw his toys for himself. Doesn't that just make you want to throw his stuffies so he can play?? He's a healthy guy for his age with just a few old man issues (beginnings of cataracts) that he takes supplements for and should continue taking. His liver enzymes were high when tested but he is on a med to help them normalize. Can you give this boy the right lap to live in?? He needs very patient/knowledgeable adopters, no children- adult only because he will bite if afraid... It is a work in progress but he is becoming the goofy boy he was meant to be while living on the nasty hot and freezing porch for most of his 14 yrs :( GIVE HIM A CHANCE!!! Local adoption only $200 (in TX)

If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. Story
This is BUCKY! When he was found, he was a matted mess with overgrown nails curled around and almost growing into his skin. He also had cherry eyes in both eyes. He was not neutered or microchipped, so after a couple of weeks of searching, his finders reached out and God's Dogs Rescue came to the rescue! Today, BUCKY is a shining example of resilience and determination. He has had it hard in life so far, but he is on the mend. He’s been neutered, had his eyes fixed, his nails done, and his hair is growing back after having to be shaved. With patience and love, he is learning new manners and basic skills like potty training which still needs some work. This love bug is ready to share his life with someone special. He has some separation anxiety, but with time and reassurance, he will flourish. He gets along with dogs, enjoys chasing tennis balls, and snuggling up in his favorite chair. It would be incredible for him to find his forever person to start an unbreakable bond. He is about a year and a half old, weighs about 15 pounds, and is possibly a malti poo or shih poo, so he will need regular spa days at the groomer, but he is HAPPY to stay clean and clipped now :) With a heart full of love and a spirit that's unbreakable, BUCKY is ready to take on the world with his new best friend by his side. Local adoption fee is $350 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $650 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet.BULLY came to us as an owner surrender with that name.  He is the oppposite of a bully, he could not be any nicer and well behaved.  His owner suffered a tragic brain injury and could no longer care for him.  He also came with that name and we do not know why or how he got that name. BULLY is a 7 pound, 6 year old Maltese/Poodle mix but a preferred bred.  He looks bigger in the picture but his is a tiny tot. He is quiet and so far is adjusting to the other foster dogs in the home.  Of course he will need to be groomed about every 6-8 weeks so please keep that in mind when considering whether to adopt him.  He has a mild and calm temperament and likes to cuddle.  He has only been around kids that are above 9 years old. He is house, potty and crate trained and can be trusted to be left home alone.  He likes to sleep in his crate but will tear up a bed so blankets are preferred.  He walks well on a leash and rides in a car without getting sick. If you are interested in adopting BULLY, please submit an application on the website below.  Thank you. www.roxysk9rescue.org       ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         March 15, 2025, 9:01 pm

Story
Say hello to Frieda! She is a 7 year old Maltese/Pug/Chihuahua mix (per her DNA testing she is a mix of 13 different breeds, making her extra special!). Frieda is a stout, solid girl weighing in at 21lbs. She is a gentle sweetheart and will make an excellent canine companion. Frieda is totally housetrained and has good leash manners. She is very food motivated which has made her training fun and rewarding. Frieda does not require tons of exercise and can be content with a short walk to do her business, but she will also easily do a 2 mile walk if that is your thing. Frieda is not overly needy either - she happily seeks attention, pets, and praise, then is content to lay on her bed quietly chewing her bone, she likes to be near her people and will keep you in sight when you are home. Frieda would be happy as the only dog in the home or could co-exist with a friendly, calm dog (she is not looking for a playmate, but rather a canine roommate/companion). A quiet, adult home or one with gentle teenagers would be a good match for Frieda as well. Frieda has some well controlled medical issues and requires special food and daily meds. She is absolutely no problem to give pills to, just put them in a little canned food and she will gobble them down. To learn more about how to make Frieda your next 4-legged family member, please contact Beth at beth.b@poainc.org AND complete an application ASAP at www.poainc.org.
