Story
OTHER PETS: Scrappy is very curious and loves meeting and sniffing other dogs. Due to his enthusiasm, he may be too much for some dogs. [Case-By-Case] OWNER EXPERIENCE: Experience with positive reinforcement or willingness to learn. Scrappy can be anxious with touch/handling leading to some displacement behaviors (play bows, zoomies). Recognizing anxiety and related behaviors, and having the ability to use positive reinforement while teaching appropriate alternatives, and creating happy associations, will be a must. [Some Experience] KIDS: Due to Scrappy being sensitive to touch/noise it's important that individuals have a good understanding of Scrappy's overall comfort by accurately reading body language and signals. Minors and dogs should be actively supervised to keep everyone safe - anyone living in the home with Scrappy must be 15+ . [15+]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Scrappy has tons of evergy and is excited when it's his turn to go out side. A combination of regular exercise and plenty of mental enrichment such as food puzzles, games and learning new tricks, will help fully meet his needs. He has a tendency to unstuff toys so nonstuffed toys are recommended. [Good Walking Buddy] VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement will help Scrappy bond with his new owner, build confidence, and learn new skills and fun tricks. [Minimal] GROOMING: Routine visits to the groomer will be the best for Scrappy to keep his coat in good shape. [Routine]August 20, 2026, 12:52 am

Story
Cardamom has already proven she will do anything for the ones she loves. Before coming to rescue, Cardamom was kept outside year-round. During the bitter cold of winter, she gave birth to and raised three puppies outdoors. Somehow, thanks to her incredible devotion and survival instinct, all three puppies made it through. By the time she arrived here, every hair on her body was matted. Her coat was one solid tangle, so she had to be completely shaved to give her a fresh start. Her hair is still short right now, but it will grow back beautifully. At around 3 years old, Cardamom is a sweet Shih Tzu who gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats. She has left her difficult past behind and is ready to enjoy the comfortable life she always deserved. After spending her life taking care of everyone else, it's finally Cardamom's turn to be the one who is loved and cared for. Good fit: someone looking for a sweet, gentle companion who gets along well with other pets and deserves a lifetime of comfort. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (neutered/spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $550 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ Think you might be a good fit? Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.Sugar is a cute little Shih Tzu who had a very hard past. Her mama died in January. From Jan thru April, Sugar was alone in her house, with only a family member coming by every day or two to feed her. By the time we got her in April, she was severely matted and pretty scared of everyone. She has been in a foster home since then and has been groomed twice. The first time was just to remove the mats from her, which left huge bald, raw skin that needed time to heal and regrow hair. Now that's done and she is looking so much better! But more than that, she needed time to heal emotionally. Sugar is a quirky little girl who likes things on her terms. She LOVES to cuddle and will paw at you to keep petting her. More than anything else, she LOVES to play fetch. She will fetch from the time she wakes up until she goes to bed if someone will keep throwing the toy for her. Her foster has to hide the toy from her and tell her 'it's put up now, no more' and then she will usually settle down. Sugar does ok with most dogs, but if the other dog is submissive she tries to pick on them. She is very protective of her bed and will growl at other dogs or cats if they try to get on 'her' bed. She also likes to show off her toughness with stuffy toys and will shake them until they fall apart. She is great with the little boy in her foster home. She doesn't like being picked up much, but once she is bonded to you, she will allow it. Once she knows she is safe with you, she will ask to be picked up by standing on her back legs and reaching up like a toddler asking for 'uppies.' She needs a patient and loving adopter who will put some time into bonding with her and getting to know all of her quirks. She does need a little help with house training as well. She sleeps in the bed with her fosters and enjoys that cuddle time immensely. Sugar is a special girl who is a lot of fun and has a lot of love to give to the right adopter. She is about 10 lbs and we estimate her to be about 6 years old. She has made great strides in her foster home in the past few months. She is ready to find her forever family who will love her as much as her foster family does. Sugar is located in Arkansas. She can be adopted locally, but transport is available to the New England area as well. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NJ, or CT on Saturdays. To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Tawny! Please thoroughly read my bio  Tawny's life didn't start out easy. She and her sister were found living on the streets in heartbreaking, neglected condition. Despite everything she's been through, Tawny has remained an incredibly sweet, gentle dog. She is truly the definition of a perfect companion—house-trained, great in the car, easy on a leash, calm, quiet, and wonderful with people, kids, and other dogs. Tawny loves being close to her people and is happiest curled up in a comfy spot. Her only flaw? She does not like cats and will absolutely chase them, so she needs a cat-free home. Tawny is currently being treated for Chagas disease. She has had extensive veterinary testing, including comprehensive bloodwork and an echocardiogram, with results showing everything within normal limits. She does have a Grade III/VI heart murmur and recently developed focal seizures, both of which are being managed with veterinary care and medication. Tawny is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, 4DX negative, and current on ProHeart 12 and Bravecto. The adoption fee for Tawny is $400. To apply, please visit www.adoggie4you.org. Tawny is currently in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Oregon, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, and locations along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. Unfortunately, we cannot transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2026, 4:36 pm

Good with cats, Needs experienced adopter,
Story
Hello! I was given Bear when he was just a puppy in 2021. He was born April 1st. He’s a nice boy, honestly he does get territorial and aggressive only when he is scared or provoked. I am looking for someone who has worked with dogs (in regards of house training and aggression training). He has never been around other dogs due to the fact that he was attacked by pit bulls and since then he is weary around other dogs. I do have a cat in which he tolerates, when he was a puppy he was also attacked by another outside cat. Disregarding the troubles he has gone through, I know with the right care he’ll be the best boy on the planet and I am truly just looking for a better home that I sadly could not give him. His last shots were in 2022 and he has not been microchipped or neutered because I cannot afford too. He loves to run around and he loves belly rubs once comfortable. I’m not looking for any fee and I don’t want to give him up to a shelter. I can wait however long until he’s safe!
