Story
Say hello to Buddy, a Bishon mix born approximately September 2021.  He is looking for a new family and his furever home!  Buddy is friendly with children and other dogs.  He is a little timid around men at first, but will warm up with slow introductions.  Buddy likes to explore, so an open front door is an invitation for him to run out - you will need to keep a close eye on him when visitors come to the door.  He will also need a secure fenced yard. When he's inside, Buddy is usually pretty mellow - he loves to be petted while sitting on your lap!! The suggested adoption donation for Buddy is $425. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Adoption fees are the primary source of funding for the cost of veterinary care for our animals. In 2021 alone, we provided animal Healthcare totaling over $307,000 covered mainly through adoption fees. If the dog or cat you adopt is older than 6 months of age and not spayed or neutered, you will receive a voucher to alter the pet at Val Verde Animal Hospital in Omaha, at no cost to you.  Or you can alter the pet at your own vet and be reimbursed $80 for dogs, and $50 for cats, of total cost.  If the dog or cat is younger than 6 months of age, adopter will be responsible for the cost of altering the pet at the vet of their choice.  If proof of alter is received by Muddy Paws prior to the pet turning 6 months of age, a reimbursement of $80 for dogs and $50 for cats, will be sent to you to help cover expenses.  All puppies and kittens MUST be spayed of neutered by 6 months of age.  All dogs and cats MUST be spayed or neutered no later than one month after adoption is finalized.  Thank you in advance for your compliance. Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application has completed our prescreen steps, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks, and a Home Visit (Virtual in some cases) during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Story
THIS POST WILL BE REMOVED WHEN THE DOG IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. INQUIRIES ABOUT THE ADOPTION STATUS WILL NOT BE RETURNED. My name is Gemini and I was born 6/17/2023....my parents were a Schnauzer and a Shih Tzu. As you can see from my glamour shots, I take after the Shih Tzu parent as my body is low to the ground and stocky. I am a happy, funny puppy who was raised being handled by children and once I get to know them, love people of all ages! My ideal home would have another playful dog to romp with and to snuggle with at night. I'm learning to be crate trained, ugh, that's a tough one for me cuz I really just want to be near my people at all times, and I'm learning to explore my world by walking on a leash. Potty training is coming along as well as can be expected....I'm a baby, after all. I will potty when you take me outdoors but still don't quite get the "holding it" stuff. My vaccinations are appropriate for my age and I will be neutered soon. If you think there is room in your life for a fun, young one like me, please apply to adopt today! WHEN COMPLETING AN APPLICATION FOR THIS PUPPY, PLEASE TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION WHERE YOU WILL BE IN YOUR LIFE IN 12-15 YEARS. SMALL DOGS EASILY LIVE INTO THEIR TEENS. The suggested adoption donation for Gemini is a minimum of $600 and goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our rescue dogs.Wag N Train Terrier Rescue adopts to an extended geographical area as long as we can locate a local volunteer to perform the required home visit. Approved adopters are required to travel to Omaha, NE to pick up their newly adopted dog. We do not arrange transport, or fly our rescue dogs without a "pet nanny". All of our dogs that come from a commercial breeding facility require a securely fenced yard AND a resident companion dog, unless the dog's bio states otherwise. Please note, invisible or underground fencing is not considered secure or appropriate containment. Adoption applications can be found at www.wagntrainterrierrescue.com/adoption-information
