Story
Teddy is a 3-year-old, 20-pound, Bichon Frise who is from a Toronto area shelter. On arrival, Teddy was in rough shape. Heavily matted and with severe dental disease. And an infected cheek lesion. An eye exam showed Teddy has a cataract in his left eye, but pressure on both eyes is normal with no signs of eye discomfort. With loving care, professional treatment and time, Teddy has made great progress. During his stay, Teddy was fully vetted; microchipped, neutered, cheek is healed and his dental surgery done, and dusted! Vet has given the thumbs up to move forward and is now ready for adoption. Foster mom notes: Teddy made friends easily with my older small dogs and was respectful. Teddy is a gentle soul. He is friendly, happy, quiet. There is the occasional bark if he hears something in the hall but does not continue. Teddy enjoys mealtime. He eats happily with my dogs. No food guarding at all. Teddy is eating ¼ cup Go! Solutions Sensitivities Lamb kibble mixed with a cube of ALL GOOD lightly cooked Beef Loaf (both Canadian). Teddy loves it, as well as his liver bite treats. His digestion is perfect. Teddy is completely housetrained. He goes for 4 walks a day. 9AM, 1PM, 5PM, 8PM. Teddy will let you know. Teddy loves his walks. During the first 8 days of foster care, Teddy enjoyed meeting other dogs on his walks. Lately though, Teddy has been reactive to dogs on our walks. We are working with the rescue’s in house trainer and we’re working on some strategies. Teddy bonded quickly with me, his foster mom. Teddy loves to be loved and nurtured. He is the ultimate lap dog. At every opportunity, Teddy is happily on my lap, by my side on the couch or bed, or following me around, always smiling and hoping for a tummy rub. Teddy has been through so much. He is doing extremely well. Teddy needs a home where his owners have the time to give him a lot of love and attention. Teddy needs stability, someone who has the time for his 4 daily walks. Happy to have Teddy on his/her lap, couch, bed. The love you will receive in return from Teddy will be such a gift. Teddy is, truly, a treasure.January 22, 2026, 9:40 am
