Please apply online at http://texasgreatdane.org/adoption-application/ ** Benji is a fun and affectionate 18-month-old Shih Tzu mix who weighs approximately 10 pounds. When he first came to us, he was not potty trained, but after about a week, he figured it out. That happened when he figured out the dog door. He has also learned to spend time in his crate. He'd rather be with his people, but he will crate. Sometimes he even goes in there just because he wants to. He is very playful and gets along with all the other dogs and even cats. He seems to like everyone he meets. He really does appreciate cuddle time. He is non-shedding, so will need to be groomed. Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for his entire life (up to 15+ years or more.) You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. His adoption fee is $300. This includes his neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, Tri-Heart® Plus chewable tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Our group focuses on assisting open admission shelters in South Texas where over 32,000 dogs and cats are euthanized each year. Our puppies and dogs are completely vetted and live in foster homes. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and tested for heartworm disease. All adoptions include one month of flea and heartworm preventative and a leash and collar.
