Hey there, friends! My name is Jay Jay, and I'm here to steal your heart with my bubbly personality and irresistible charm. I may be a four-year-old Bichon mix, but let me tell you, I've got the energy of a puppy and the attention span of a squirrel.
First things first, let's talk about my favorite things: kids, dogs, and people. I've been hanging out with some curious creatures called cats in my foster home too. I give them their space, but I'll admit, I might get a little nervous when one of them gets a bit too friendly. You know, boundaries and all that jazz.
Now, let's talk potty training. I'm proud to say I'm acing it! I'm all about those outdoor adventures, so if you give me the chance, I'll happily do my business outside where it belongs. But hey, accidents happen, right? So, let's make sure I get plenty of opportunities to stretch my legs, explore the great outdoors.... and make you proud with my potty successes.
Here's the deal with crates: my last owners made me spend a lot of time in them, so they used to freak me out a bit. But with some patience and lots of positive vibes, I'm learning that it can actually be a cozy little retreat. So, if you're willing to help me turn that crate into my safe haven, I'll be forever grateful!
Okay, let's talk treats. Who doesn't love a tasty snack? Am I right? I'm a quick learner, especially when there's a yummy treat involved. So, although this is completely new to me, if you're up for some fun training sessions, count me in!
Oh, did I mention car rides? They're the absolute best! Just give me a nod, and I'll be ready to hop in and join you on your next adventure. And walks? Oh boy, I live for those! Whether it's a leisurely stroll or a brisk jog, I'm game for it all.
Now, let's address the elephant in the room: my excitement levels can sometimes go through the roof. I'm working on it, I promise! Sometimes when I'm overstimulated, I try to express my enthusiasm by humping my friends... But hey, who amongst us hasn’t? I know it's rude, but can you blame me for wanting to spread a little "love"? I'm working on appropriate ways to channel my energy, and a small dose of Trazodone really helps keep me in check.

GDU does ask a minimum adoption fee of $400.00. This does not even come close to covering all expenses created by animals while in rescue. We are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum fee includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate,, heartworm test and preventative, if age appropriate, and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying, if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. In an attempt to avoid tummy upset from a sudden change of food, the foster family may include a small, transitional bag of the food the dog/puppy has been eating. And if the dog/puppy has grown attached to a special item (like a toy or blanket), they may send that along, as well.
