Story
URGENT Foster mother has medical issues, and he must be moved asap! Let me introduce Ralphie! This awesome guy was abandoned in the woods when he was still a puppy – left to die young, scared and alone in the middle of nowhere. He is extremely sweet. Very friendly, never meets a stranger and loves absolutely everyone he meets. He still has a puppy spirit and needs activity & exercise - playtime is also high on his wish list! He would be great for an active family that hikes or runs, as long as there is cuddles and belly rubs too. His leash walking is coming along well but he does need a firm hand. Like others of his breed, he can be quite vocal. He gets along well with other dogs if he is properly introduced and has time to warm up to them. He has been hunted and showed promise but has not really been trained to hunt. He will be much happier as a loving family companion.

Story
COURTESY LISTINGLooking for a furry friend who embodies the spirit of adventure? Meet Melody, the adorable and spirited Transylvanian Hound (or maybe a Black and Tan Coonhound) looking for her forever home! At 3 years old and 60 lbs, Melody is bursting with energy, intelligence, and love. She's searching for a family who understands hound traits and can provide her with the active and engaging lifestyle she craves. Melody is a clever girl who loves playing games, especially searching for hidden toys. She already knows the command "sit" and will impress you with her obedience. When it's time to unwind, she's happy to relax with her plush toy trying to find the squeaker and keeping herself entertained. Melody is a great companion for outdoor adventures and long walks. She adores being outside and will accompany you on every exploration. While she enjoys her high-energy activities, she can also settle down and cuddle up, ready for some quality time on the couch. Melody has great house manners and is house trained and crate trained. She sleeps soundly in her crate, making bedtime a breeze. Car rides are a joy for her, and she'll eagerly join you. Melody is not a fan of cats due to her prey drive and would probably do best as the only pet in her home. She loves children and is friendly with strangers, showing her affectionate nature to everyone she meets. Like most hounds, Melody is strong on the leash. She requires an owner who can handle her strength and provide the guidance she needs. She's ready to bring her zest for life and infectious happiness into your home. Don't miss out on the opportunity to share your adventures with this special hound dog, Miss Melody! Apply to adopt today. This dog is a courtesy listing (not in the AARF program) but we will be reviewing applications and helping the owner find the right home for Melody. Please visit http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-app/ to apply.  Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. May 6, 2024, 11:30 pm

Story
Dandelion is a gorgeous girl who joined our rescue a few months ago. She was found with her sister, Divia, as country strays in rural Virginia.  Animal Control Officers corralled the girls and brought them to the overcrowded county shelter, where they were about to be euthanized. Shelter workers worked frantically to get them transferred to our rescue before their time was up. Dandelion navigated the rescue process with ease, and while she seems shy at first, she opens up easily once the human love starts flowing. She is extremely affectionate and would make an outstanding family dog. Dandelion loves people and could easily live happily with older kids. Her gentle, loving nature is on full display. She definitely wears her heart on her sleeve.  Dandelion is a large dog at 67 pounds, but could easily gain 3 pounds to reach normal weight. She is active but does not have an over-the-top energy level. She requires a couple of leisurely, "smell the roses" daily walks but then is content to rest or take a nap. She would do well in a family setting, or with a single, or retired folks. Dandelion will be happy as long as she is loved.  Dandelion loves other dogs and has become a superstar in our large dog playgroup. She easily could join a multi-dog home with other friendly dogs, but we have not had her around cats. She is available solo, or with her sister Divia, to anyone interested in a well matched pair.  Dandelion is a Black and Tan Coonhound. As a scent Hound, her instincts are a mixed bag of gun dog attributes. Her ideal adopter would be an active single or couple, who can include her on hikes, runs, or walks, camping, or any kind of outdoors activity that will challenge mind and body. Dandelion has good house manners, and is house trained and crate trained. Adopters should expect to troubleshoot the occasional accident that will inevitably occur during her transition to a new home. She has been spayed, and has received routine vaccinations and health screenings. If you are interested in Dandelion, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call or text Denise at 860-908-9738 for more info. We are an active, 501(c)(3), multi-breed dog rescue, local to the North East, situated in Canterbury, Connecticut. Our 21 year history is reflected in our website EskiesOnline.com, and on our Facebook page: Eskies Online.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. KELLER was saved from a kill shelter in Louisiana and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 10 October 2023. KELLER is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch.He has an estimated date of birth of May 2023 and on 26 October 2023 weighed around 60 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue     YouTube channel     and     photo albums on our Facebook page     to see a LOT of pictures and videos. KELLER is a big, affectionate love bug who cannot look at anyone without waggling his bum which wags his body.  He loves to play and charge around with his other dogs friends, but can be very calm and gentle with people.  He has been around adults of all ages, shapes and sizes, small children and people with special needs and was gentle and loving.  He is responsive and can be a little shy on occasions, he has been out on adventures and came on our December outing to Bissell Brothers Brewery where he had a great time. He does need an active family who will ensure he gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that he needs to live a happy fulfilling life. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. KELLER is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a  reduced adoption  fee of $100. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - As the dogs are in the kennels, we are not able to say how they are with cats.
