Story
Basil is a petite Coonhound mix, found as a stray. We estimate her to be about 2 years old and she weighs only 45 pounds. If you've always wanted a Coonhound but thought they were too big, here's your girl. She is a friendly dog who is looking for a person or family that can appreciate her. She keeps a clean kennel here in the shelter, which is a really good sign for housetraining. Basil is very food motivated, which helps with training and takes treats so gently! Hounds love to run so her new family will need patience as she learns her boundaries. Basil is up to date on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm disease and her adoption fee includes a voucher for the mandatory spay and microchip.

During that time, I’ve learned a lot about her and worked consistently with her. She knows basic commands, has learned patience with food, and has shown steady improvement with structure and routine. Mazie is approximately 8 months old, and to my knowledge, is a purebred Black and Tan Coonhound. She is extremely friendly, affectionate, and people-loving, and gets along well with other dogs. Like most young hounds, she is energetic and still maturing, but she has great potential with consistency and time. Unfortunately, due to a changing work schedule, I’m unable to continue providing the stable daily care she needs. This decision is being made in her best interest so she can go to a home with more time and consistency. Please reach out if interested or if you’d like more details.

Story
This Christmas, Scout isn’t asking for toys, just a family to love her forever. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Adopt Scout &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143. All Scout Wants for Christmas Is a Home Meet Scout, a 5-month-old sweetheart with the gentlest soul and the softest eyes. Born around July 2025, Scout is dreaming of her very first Christmas, and hoping it will be spent in a forever home of her own! Scout’s mom is a Bluetick Hound mix, and dad is unknown. She currently weighs about 25ish lbs and she is the smallest of her litter, with an estimated adult size of 50ish lbs. Scout is crate trained and working on leash and house training. As a young puppy, she’ll need continued guidance, patience, and lots of love as she grows. She does wonderfully with other dogs and cats, and she’s good with men, women, and children, though she can be shy. Scout is timid but curious, and once she feels safe, her playful and sweet personality truly shines. Scout’s story began when she was born to a stray mom. The puppies had to be humanely trapped and missed out on early socialization. Despite that tough start, Scout has come so far. Every day, her confidence grows and her personality continues to blossom. All of Scout’s siblings and even her mom, have found their forever homes… and now Scout is the only one still waiting. Scout will do best in a home with another confident dog to help show her the ropes and continue building her confidence. With the right family, she will thrive into the most loyal and loving companion. This Christmas, Scout isn’t wishing for toys or treats &#226&#128&#144 just a family to call her own. Could you be the miracle she’s been waiting for? &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 Santa photo is AI-generated for festive fun! Scout’s real photos will be added as well. She is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and current vaccinations and preventatives. If you are interested in adding this sweet baby to your family, please message for an adoption application. Adoption fee: $75.December 12, 2025, 10:50 am

Story
Daisy was found at a sawmill, pregnant. She was picked up by a shelter and then taken in by a rescue. After she had her puppies, she was adopted by her current family. They tried for a year but were not able to get her to accept their teen son as part of the family. She loves her people but prefers only animal siblings. She has been around cats with great success. Her first foster had dogs and they said she was fine with them however, she hasn't been around other dogs for a year. She is very sweet and loving. Enjoys walks and napping on the couch with her people. She seems to feel most comfortable with women but will warm up to men. She would do best with a family that doesn't entertain a lot.
