Say hello to Meg, the sweet sniffer with a heart of gold! Meg is a 4-year-old black and tan coonhound mix with the classic hound charm and the gentlest soul. Found as a stray, she’s a sweet and friendly girl who greets everyone with happy tail wags, even if she’s still a little nervous and unsure at first. True to her hound roots, Meg loves to follow her nose wherever it leads, taking in all the wonderful smells the world has to offer. She’s generally easy to walk on leash, perfectly fine passing other dogs, and gets more comfortable and confident the longer she’s with you. Meg is still working on gaining a little weight, building up her confidence, and learning basic commands, but she’s already showing what a loving companion she’ll be. Once she settles in, this girl’s soft eyes and gentle nature will win your heart completely. If you’re a true hound lover, then Meg is the girl for you! She’s a diamond in the rough who’s just ready to shine and sniff out her forever home!

If you are interested in Winston, please contact Carol at carol.attuso@gmail.com From Winston's owner: We are looking to rehome Winston. Winston is a 1 year old healthy, neutered mix breed male, about 50 pounds. He is house broken, crate trained, leash trained, does not mark or hump. He has all current vaccines, records and heart worm/flea tick treatments on time (comes with a 6 month supply) He is very high energy and needs a home with a big fenced yard and other dogs. He loves to play!! Good with kids. Likes long walks, car rides, bully sticks, peanut butter kongs and lots of belly rubs. Needs to be in a home either with other dogs or where he is not alone often. Does get crate anxiety during the day. Would be an amazing agility dog Winston is in the Richmond VA area. Ralph is a good ol’ boy! He is a hound mix, probably bluetick and Catahoula, who is about 8 years old and 60 pounds. He loves going for car rides and long walks but also snoozing in the recliner. (If you are already in the recliner, he will sit in your lap!) He has a dog sibling and gets along with her. Ralph must also be part chow hound as he loves food! Ralph would enjoy a home with another friendly dog to play with but please, no cats and only teenage children. Ralph is crate trained, housetrained, neutered, fully vaccinated, and up-to-date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Would Ralph be perfect for you? Mikey is a big chunk of a boy, he is approx. 75-80 lbs. He is a quiet boy and very neat. He will be available for adoption on 7-20-25. Visit him at the Rockbridge Spca or email manager@rockbridgespca.net heartworm tested: negative visit our fb page: dogs of rockbridge and rockbridge spca. NOTE: all animals adopted are taken straight to a local veterinarian for spay/neuter. We do adopt out of area providing adopter is will to make more than one trip. There are NO exceptions, and we do not hold animals. All Kittens and puppies must weigh 2 lbs. for surgery and there are a limited number of veterinarians in our area that will do a pediatric spay/neuter. please note the Rockbridge Spca does not have emotional support animals or service animals. we do not adopt to college students, however, they are welcome to volunteer.

No, I'm not a grouch from Sesame Street (although I do have my moments), and I'm not the messy Oscar from the Odd Couple. I am Oscar the hound. A redbone coonhound to be precise. Since I am a hound, my nose leads the way on long walks. I am great with other dogs. I especially love to relax outdoors in the sun and I am house trained. I also know basic commands and take treats well. I love car rides! While I am primarily good-natured, I can be protective of food, toys, and objects that I think are mine. I would do best in a home with no children and a strong experienced owner. A few other things about me. I do the "Oscar dance to make a pitch for some yummy treats. Also, I always, always have a smile on my face. I love low-key living and know a great home is out there for me. Come and visit to see my Oscar dance, and let's get to know each other! If you have the experience and are looking for a dog to hang out on the back porch and bath in the sun. I am the Oscar for you.
