Story
Star is approximately 4 years old and about 60 pounds of pure sweetness. When we rescued Star, she had been shot — the bullet went through her jaw and ear. She was in unimaginable pain. She underwent surgery to remove the bullets and had reconstructive work done on her face to save her precious life. Because of her injuries, her little tongue now permanently hangs out — and we think it makes her uniquely beautiful. 💕 It does NOT affect her eating or drinking, and she doesn’t even know she’s any different. And here’s the most amazing part… She is still SO full of love. Star: 🐾 Loves children 🐾 Loves car rides 🐾 Rolls over for belly rubs 🐾 Knows “sit” 🐾 Is incredibly smart 🐾 Is unbelievably sweet She cannot help what someone did to her. But we can help write the rest of her story. After everything she’s endured, Star deserves safety. She deserves kindness. She deserves a family who will see her tongue as a badge of survival and her heart as pure gold. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, resilient best friend — Star is waiting. ✨ Message us to meet this special girl. Let’s find our survivor the home she’s always deserved. 🏡💖 Star is currently being fostered in Mississippi but included in your adoption fee is transport to a location near you by Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal friendly transport on the road! Please message us if you are interested in adopting this guy and we will send an adoption application to you! We look forward to hearing from you!

Story
Our BEST boy is waiting to meet you! Hound lovers, Meet Clyde. Clyde found himself in a very rural shelter with more dogs than adopters. Because the competition was younger and smaller, he didn't stand much chance of being chosen. Lucky for him, we are suckers for senior coonies and happily welcomed him into our adoption program. Clyde is the most kind an gentle soul. He enjoys gazing into your eyes and leaning on you show is love. He is a dream on-leash and quietly sits in his crate at adoption events just waiting for someone to adore him. It's unlikely that Clyde has lived in a home and may need some extra support with house training and basic manners. Given his easy going personality, we bet he will adjust rather easily. Clyde is a treeing walker coonhound who is guessed to be about 7-9 years old and weighs about 65 pounds. He recently had a dental so he'll be ready to smile at his new family for years to come! We adore Clyde and are proud to have saved him. Now, let's find his furEVER family! Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3 charitable, foster- based rescue.
