Meet the new guy, Whiskey Sunrise! This treeing walker coonhound is like a shot of southern whiskey 🥃 - rough around the edges but with a heart of gold ❤️. He's still learning the ropes and has never lived in a house, but he's got a big personality and loves being adored. He is only around a year old and loves playing with other dogs and is learning that life is great! Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster-based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Story
I adopted Husdon about a year ago. He's estimated to be around 6 years old, and he is up to date and neutered. He is genuinely the sweetest dog in the world, and it breaks my heart to have to rehome him. He is so goofy and a big cuddle bug. He would do best in a home that would give him a lot of love and cuddles. He does not have attachment anxiety. Once you leave, he will find a spot to lie down and nap. He loves to take long naps during the day. He does well on the leash. I am rehoming him because I unfortunately had to move back home, and he does not do well with my parents' cats at all. He is very good with children and other dogs, and I have tested both those options. He's truly an angel of a dog and the best. He is a hound dog, but he is not vocal at all. He will bark when he gets super excited, but he quiets down quickly. I will provide his food, leash and harness, bed, toys, and vaccine history. He is about 74 lbs.

Lincoln would be best suited as the only dog; he can be protective of his food and space with other dogs. He's lived outdoors and would need some training in the house, but he's sweet and food-motivated. Today we have Ollie, a young strapping man who LOVES kids and other dogs of all sizes.  One of those guys who doesn't know exactly how big he is but makes up for his clumsiness in cuddles.  Great a helping clean the kitchen counters and floor (food driven) or training others to keep them clean, enjoys laundry day (warm towels and sheets are the best), is even a great singer!  Ollie will greet you slippers in mouth when you get home, maybe a blanket some days.  Don't let this sweetie pie get away! TIME SENSITIVE! SPECIAL NEEDS! Trisha needs a home SOON! Remember Trisha? She came to us from a shelter a couple months ago. She was hit by a car about 6 months before being taken to the shelter but her owner didn't take her to the vet. We quickly learned that she is incontinent because the end of her spinal cord is severed. Trisha is happy, and playful and loves attention. She is not good with cats or any dog who seems dominant at all and may be most successful as an only pet. She loves people and would most likely be just fine with kids! Trisha would be happy and manageable in a home with a fenced yard for her to spend the day in. She could wear a diaper to come inside for family time and sleep in a crate at night. She will be more prone to urinary tract infections and will need regular medical care. We love Trisha and hope we can find someone else who will adore her and be able to manage her needs. Trisha has been spayed and vaccinated and we are happy to waive her adoption fee. Trisha is about 4 years old and weighs about 45 pounds. Apply NOW at www.augustadogadoptions.org.
