Story
We adopted Hubie from a shelter in fresno and the shelter told us basically that he was the perfect dog. He was at first but about a month into getting him he started to show signs of reactivity to males. Mainly just being skiddish and barking. After few months later he bit a family member at a large party we had because he was swinging a large trash bag and it scared him. After this we put him in extensive behavioral training one on one for a month. He came back a completely different dog!! Happier, more secure, and very well trained. After about a few months he bit again and fast forward a year he recently bit another family member. The bites are reactive and not aggressive and he’s genuinely the sweetest most affectionate dog. We think he may have been abused before we got him and has reactive behavior that would be better managed in a household without small kids. We have a 10 month old we can no longer put in this situation for his safety. He knows commands and is very smart!

MEET ROMEO, a handsome, loyal, protective Black Mouth Cur. Romeo is a gorgeous 6-1/2-year-old male, and he weighs about 74 lbs. (His shelter paperwork says shepherd-boxer mix). Romeo loves to walk, hike and be with his person or people. He would be a wonderful companion for someone who loves to hike and go on exciting journeys! Romeo is a great guard dog and can be protective with people he does not know, so would do best in a non-congested area where neighbors aren't a concern. Romeo also has a prey drive, so needs a strong owner. He has done great with other dogs in a home setting. He's incredibly smart, affectionate, and will attach to his person or people. His bond is very strong. He is not a big fan of kids. Romeo is easy to groom, is playful, and loves a good belly rub! He will benefit from exercise, and people who understand his breed. Wilbur is a 4.5 month old Black Mouth Cur mix puppy looking for an active home that’s ready for all the fun that comes with puppyhood. He currently weighs about 20 pounds and will likely grow into a medium-large sized dog. When Wilbur first came to us, he was extremely underweight and had clearly been through a lot for such a young puppy. Now that he’s safe, healthy, and finally getting the care he deserves, his personality has completely blossomed. Wilbur is playful, goofy, incredibly smart, and FULL of energy. He loves flirt pole time, roughhousing with other playful dogs, shredding cardboard boxes, toys, treats, and anything that keeps his busy puppy brain engaged. He would thrive with an adopter who enjoys an active lifestyle and is committed to continued training, structure, exercise, and enrichment. He’s currently being fostered around a cat and has been coexisting well. He’s also very food motivated, which makes training fun and rewarding. Nail trims and handling are easy when treats are involved. Wilbur is not a couch potato puppy. He’s the kind of dog who wants to play hard, learn new things, stay busy, and fully be part of the action. Beneath all the puppy antics is a really sweet, happy boy who is finally getting the chance to just be a puppy.

BUNNY is highly trainable, as she pays close attention to her person. She will thrive with an active, athletic parent. BUNNY is an excellent Agility and SAR (Search and Rescue) candidate.
