Story
Greetings all, my name is Maximus but everyone calls me Max! I`ve been waiting 2 years for a home of my own, which is crazy since I`m not only super-duper handsome, I`m a really good boy!Can you believe I`ve never even had a meet-and-greet in those 2 years?! I love going on walks, getting butt scratches, and playing with toys. I know lots of tricks; sit, paw, wait, and down, so you know I`m a smart guy. I`m great with adults and kids too, super gentle. When it comes to other dogs I`m currently working with a trainer and the lead to build more confidence with other dogs. Trust me, I know how to win hearts. If you`re looking for a fun, adorable, and handsome guy like me, come on out and meet me! I promise I`ll warm your heart (and your bed) at night. I`m the best cuddle buddy you could ask for, just waiting for you!If you`re ready for a smart, active, and loyal companion, look no further! Contact SPARC and let them know you want to meet Maximus. Together, we`ll conquer the world, one walk and treat at a time! Don`t wait too long; my tail`s wagging in anticipation of our playdates and adventures together. Let`s make every day exciting and full of love!

Story
Meet Molly, our brave and unstoppable zooms queen. Let me tell you a little about me — I know you’re wondering about my skin and why I lost my beautiful coat when I was just a tiny puppy. I survived burns on the streets, but that didn’t stop me from being the sweetest, most lovable baby girl in the sanctuary. I have only love and kindness to give. My eyes are like the biggest hug you’ve ever felt, and I adore every human, dog, and especially kids that I meet. I’m happiest when I’m zooming around, cuddling, exploring, and sharing all the joy in my heart. I dream of a human soul who wants to take me on a life full of adventures, cuddles, and beautiful moments — because that’s exactly what I am. My hair may not grow back, but my heart grows in happiness every single day thanks to the second chance I was given. Molly is ready to share her endless love and joy with her forever family. Story
Meet Beanie! A tender-hearted eight-year-old Black Mouth Cur currently living in Seattle, WA, whose soft brown coat with black and white accents wraps around a loyal spirit and a big, loving heart. Beanie is a big girl with an even bigger heart—she tips the scales around 65 pounds, but what she truly carries most is her love for people. Whether it’s a quiet evening snuggled up beside her human or a quick tug-of-war session (her absolute favorite game!), Beanie thrives on closeness and affection. She’s got a gentle, soulful presence that makes you feel like she’s listening to every word you say, and her eyes light up at the sight of her favorite people or a crunchy snack! Beanie is house-trained, crate-trained, and quite content being left alone while her person is out and about. She enjoys a steady, calm routine—just one daily 30-minute walk, a couple of bathroom breaks, and she’s set. While she knows a few basics like “sit,” “wait,” “off,” and “down,” what she’s really mastered is the art of being your quiet, comforting shadow. Beanie’s story includes a challenging chapter that shaped her current needs. She was raised alongside another female dog of the same breed, and for many years they got along just fine. But two years ago, the pair had a fight and after that the dogs had to be kept separated. Multiple professional reintroduction attempts were made without success, and the stress of the situation began to wear on Beanie. As her anxiety grew, she had a warning nip with a child during a particularly tense moment, though she continued to live peacefully with children before and after. This moment, however, was a clear sign that Beanie needed a different environment—one where she could truly relax. Since transitioning to her current foster home, Beanie has blossomed! She’s shown herself to be incredibly sweet, gentle, and eager to bond with people. That said, Beanie is not compatible with other animals and will need to be the only pet in her new home. She is reactive to other dogs and will growl or lunge when she sees them, but she’s highly food-motivated and responds well to redirection. Walks during quieter hours have helped tremendously in keeping her calm and focused. Beanie is looking for a new peaceful, loving home with a committed guardian who can give her the attention and consistency she needs. Could you be the one to share your life—and your tug rope—with Beanie? To learn more, please contact adopt@joyfulpets.com!

Story
MEET ROMEO, a handsome, loyal, protective Black Mouth Cur. Romeo is a handsome 6-year-old male, and he weighs about 74 lbs. (His shelter paperwork says shepherd-boxer mix). Romeo is a gorgeous, handsome dog who loves to walk, hike and be with his person or people. He would be a wonderful companion for someone who loves to hike! He's a great guard dog and can be protective with people he does not know, so would do best in a non-congested area where neighbors aren't a concern. Romeo also has a prey drive, so needs a strong owner. He has done great with other dogs in a home setting. He's incredibly smart, affectionate, and will attach to his person or people. His bond is very strong. He is not a big fan of kids. Romeo is easy to groom, is playful, and loves a good belly rub! He will benefit from walks, hikes, and exercise, and people who understand his breed. Please email for an application.
