At 2 years old, she has a wonderful balance of playful energy and emotional maturity. She still enjoys activity and fun but is also growing into a loyal companion who values closeness and routine. As a Black Mouth Cur / Terrier mix, Horchata may show traits such as intelligence, athleticism, curiosity, and strong loyalty to her people. Black Mouth Cur mixes are often known for being devoted, hardworking, and emotionally connected dogs, while Terrier traits can add playful energy and personality. Horchata would thrive in a home that can provide: Daily exercise and engagement Structure and consistency Companionship and inclusion as part of the family Mental stimulation and positive interaction She is the kind of dog who bonds deeply and wants to be involved in everyday life with her people. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance. Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Even dogs who appear well-behaved in foster care or at the rescue are still adjusting and learning. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should be prepared to continue training and support after adoption. Horchata will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Structure and routine Daily exercise and engagement Patience and consistency during adjustment Continued socialization and guidance Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With time, patience, and commitment, rescue dogs often blossom into incredibly loyal companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, training, mental stimulation, and financial responsibility. Horchata will need: Daily walks, exercise, and interaction Continued training and guidance Routine wellness exams and preventative veterinary care A safe, stable, indoor living environment Consistent veterinary care, proper nutrition, preventative care, and emotional stability are all essential to helping her live a healthy and happy life. Horchata is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. Meet Rubi Female DOB: February 5, 2026 Weight: 15 lbs current Breed: Black Mouth Cur / Terrier Mix Expected Size: Medium to Large when fully grown Spayed (Fixed): Pending (age-appropriate) Vaccines: In Progress Microchipped Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Rubi is a sweet, affectionate puppy with a loving personality and playful spirit. She enjoys spending time with her people, exploring her surroundings, and soaking up all the attention and affection she can get. Like many puppies, she is curious about the world and excited to learn new things every day. As a growing Black Mouth Cur / Terrier Mix, Rubi may inherit some wonderful traits from both breeds, including intelligence, loyalty, athleticism, and a strong desire to bond with her family. Black Mouth Cur mixes are often known for their devotion and eagerness to please, while Terriers bring curiosity, confidence, and playful energy. Rubi is expected to mature into a medium-to-large-sized adult dog. Rubi would thrive in a home prepared for: Ongoing puppy training and supervision Daily exercise, playtime, and enrichment Positive socialization experiences Structure, consistency, and routine A lifelong commitment to her physical and emotional well-being Puppies are adorable, but they are also a major responsibility that requires patience, training, supervision, and long-term commitment. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Many rescue puppies come from uncertain beginnings and may not have had structure, socialization, or training before arriving at rescue. Even very young puppies require guidance and supervision to learn how to become confident, well-mannered adult dogs. Puppies are not automatically trained simply because they are young. While we work hard to provide safety, care, and basic socialization, adopters should expect to continue all training and development after adoption. Adopting a puppy means being prepared for: Potty training and accidents Teething and chewing phases Crate training and leash training Nighttime wakeups and supervision Jumping and playful puppy behavior Continued socialization and confidence-building Daily exercise and enrichment Routine veterinary visits and vaccine boosters Financial commitment throughout the dog's lifetime Rubi will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily structure and routine Continued socialization and exposure Mental stimulation and enrichment Patience, consistency, and supervision Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience, guidance, and commitment, puppies like Rubi grow into wonderful lifelong companions. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a puppy is a lifelong commitment that includes training, exercise, routine veterinary care, financial responsibility, and emotional commitment throughout every stage of life. Rubi will need: Ongoing puppy training and guidance Routine veterinary visits and vaccine boosters Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Proper nutrition and growth monitoring Daily exercise, enrichment, and companionship A safe, stable, indoor living environment Puppies require regular veterinary care throughout their first year, including booster vaccines, wellness exams, and spay surgery when age-appropriate. Because Rubi is still young and growing, adopters should be prepared for the normal puppy stages that include chewing, teething, accidents, testing boundaries, and continued social development. Rubi is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting this wonderful puppy, please complete an adoption application by visiting: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Thank you for considering adoption through Ozzie and Friends Rescue, a Los Angeles-based rescue dedicated to giving dogs a second chance at a loving home. Story
Meet our sweet, beautiful girl Arya! She is approximately 8 years old and 60 lbs of pure love! Arya is super sweet, very affectionate, mellow, smart, and funny. She is the goodest girl who will do anything for a yummy treat! She absolutely loves her belly rubs and can often be found on her back, legs stretched out, waiting for her pets! She needs a little bit of time to warm up to a new environment or person, but once she gets comfortable, she will shower you with so much affection every day, everywhere. Here’s how to describe this sweet pea: - Walks great on leash (loves going on walks) - Easy to train as she’s super food motivated (food will make her do anything) - Smart and picks up new tricks/toys quickly - Crate and house trained - Loves to spend time with her human. She’ll be happy just sitting next to you - Very good in the car - Very good with brushing teeth, cleaning ears, shower - Loves belly rubs and pets - Loves squeaky toys - Good with other calm large dogs - She takes a daily anti-inflammatory for her minor arthritis but has no problem going on walks and living a happy life! :) As Arya needs a little bit of time to warm up, an adults-only home is recommended. Arya also needs to be the only pet in the home, and prefers a mellow home. Arya has never forgotten any of her fosters, and gets SO excited when they come to visit her. She can't wait to have that same excitement for you! Adopt our bundle of joy! Arya had a very tough life so far and is so ready to embrace her forever family. Apply to adopt Arya on pacificpupsrescue.com!
