Meet Dexter 🐶Dexter is a 2-year-old mixed-breed dude with a big heart and an even bigger love for life. This sweet and loving boy came to us as a stray, so we don’t know much about his past, but he’s clearly ready to focus on the future.We think Dexter may be a Black Mouth Cur mix, though we can’t say for sure. What we do know is that he’s very cool, full of energy, and absolutely loves to run and play. He’s the kind of dog who would thrive with an active family or someone who enjoys outdoor adventures.Despite his playful side, Dexter is also affectionate and enjoys bonding with his people. He’s a great balance of fun and love, and he’s just waiting for someone to give him the chance he deserves.If you’re looking for a sweet, active companion to share your days with, Dexter might be your perfect match. 🖤🐾Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM. All adoption fees include age-appropriate vaccinations, flea treatment, deworming, and spay or neuter, microchip, and adoption packet. Fees:Dogs over 6 months old: $100Puppies under 6 months: $200. Poncho ended up at the shelter after being brought in as a stray. A really friendly boy who enjoys being with people, is active and good with dogs and kids. He is a 2-3 year old Black Mouth Cur, current on his vaccinations, and heartworm negative. We will neuter and chip him.

Barkleigh was brought to us by the Sheriff's Dept. She is a 2-3 year old Shar Pei/Pit mix, weighs 45 lbs., is current with her vaccinations, dewormed, heartworm negative and she will be spayed and chipped. Very friendly, playful girl, active, likes toys, good with other dogs and kids.

Story
Shiloh is 17 months old, we rescued him along with 2 siblings from a filthy cage in the neighborhood. We found homes for the other two locally but not for Shiloh yet. He is very social and loyal. Loves people and other dogs. Loves kids but they should be a little older because he might push little ones down when he wants to play with them. He is house trained. Loves to walk, needs a big back yard. He's up to date on rabies shots but not the others. Needs someone that has experience and knows that dogs are work.
