Story
Meet Tiger! A 4-year-old male Rhodesian Ridgeback mix who may have a fierce name, but is really more of a quiet observer than a jungle hunter. Tiger is the definition of “mind your business and I’ll mind mine.” Around other dogs, he’s tolerant and polite he coexists just fine, but he’s not looking to join the pack or start play sessions until he feels 100% comfortable. When he does, he`ll romp around with the pack a bit, but then go back to enjoying life at his own steady pace. Despite his name, Tiger isn’t out here roaring through the house, he’s more of a calm, independent guy who knows what he likes and doesn’t feel the need to make a big fuss about it. Think less “king of the jungle,” more “laid-back lounge supervisor.” At 4 years old, he’s past the wild puppy phase and enjoys a more relaxed lifestyle. If you’re looking for a low-drama, easygoing dog who doesn’t need the spotlight (even if his name suggests otherwise), Tiger is ready to quietly rule your heart, no roaring required. Come meet Tiger at Anderson County PAWS. We`re open 12-5 pm (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat)

Story
*Mixed Breed*4 yrs old; 44lbs*Sweet, kind natured fella. A bit shy and meek and quiet. Can overwhelm quickly but working on getting braver by the day. Good with other dogs! Can`t go wrong if a dog`s name has a `paw` in it, right?  SPAWLDING is a delightful, more quiet, meek mid-sized fella.  Found as a stray, as sweet and kind as he is,  it`s sad to think no one is looking and or missing him but we`re super pleased to have him under our care so YOU can have a chance at bringing this gentle soul into your home.  Polite and submissive,  Spawlding is getting more brave by the day but can still startle and or easily get overwhelmed.  He`s not much into toys and seems to enjoy cautiously exploring our play yard areas and then he`ll stop and almost place his head in your lap!  Almost! Dressed for success with his light tan, suede coat and snazzy, black muzzle,  Spawlding has joined us in doggy play groups and has been the perfect gentleman. Erring on the more submissive side, he`s not one to create conflict and prefers hanging below the radar. Briefly he had a doggy roommate- younger pup who was a very strong player- and while Spawlding can play with a little more umph, his roomie was pretty incessant and not able to take q`s, so Spawdling has another roomie who is less demanding. Still, it shows how tolerant a dog he is. Spawlding continues to work hard to gain his footing and understand his new normal and it`s been a joy to see him relax and smile.  Nothing would please him more though,  than for you to accept him under your wing now and take him home. Note: Likely, a home with a well balanced dog would help him more quickly settle in while showing him the ropes.Facebook Update May 15: Don`t be fooled by that more stern expression.Introducing SPAWLDING! Folks, this is the nicest and most kind doggy. He`s still finding his footing with us but already he`s a standout amongst some of the volunteers. With our kennels full and more coming in daily, we had Spawlding in a large crate in our busy office area yesterday. Was he a champ?? Totally!!! He was so brave and did such a wonderful job. With a steady flow of people and dogs and just action and chaos (at times), he was amazing as he took it all in. He was excellent exiting his crate and also going back in it. In between, he got some special one on one time outside with one of his fave humans who loved and doted over him. If you are into the under
