Story
Meet Tank, a charming boy with a heart full of love and a mind full of curiosity. He's got a sweet and friendly nature that makes him a joy to be around. Tank's goofy antics are sure to keep you entertained. His playful and fun-loving spirit is infectious, and he's always up for a walk in the woods or a romp in the park. Tank's combination of smarts, sweetness, and silliness make him a unique companion. Adopting Tank means opening your home to laughter, constant companionship, and unconditional love. He has had a rough time in life, living on the streets then being picked up by someone who kept him for a while only to decide she really didn't want another dog. She took him to the vet for euthanasia. Our vet had pity and decided to give Tank another chance. He was treated for heartworms, vaccinated and neutered while in their care. Please, give Tank a chance to show you just how special he is.

Story
Max is a super sweet boy looking for a loving home of his own. He is a little shy when he first meets people, but we promise that Max will show you what a sweet, silly, and outgoing guy he is after just a few minutes! Max is extremely eager to learn and loves going for zooms in the yard and walks in the woods. He will do best with a family with the time and patience to help him get comfortable and give him all the love and care he needs to be confident. Max recently went for a 2-week sleepover with a couple of his volunteer besties! We learn so much about pups in our care when they go to a home. "Max was a perfect gentleman during his stay! He was an easy, gentle dog to live with. We fell in love as we got to know him! - Max's Vibe: We ran Max on a long leash daily. He needed to get zoomies out! He loves hiking in the woods, running in fields, and playing with sticks. Inside, he was happy to lie around and occasionally play with toys. He was never hyper or destructive. - Potty Training: Max sometimes excitedly peed when seeing us after a few hours. He was otherwise fully housetrained! Most days, he only peed once or twice. It didn't seem like nervous behavior, but he needed a "reason." Max would pee multiple times if we took him on a long hike or somewhere other dogs had been. - Personal Space: Max's way of showing affection is to sit as close as possible and gaze at us! He liked to touch us while napping. Once asleep, Max wanted a little more space. While deeply asleep, he growled when we touched his paws. But he was great at sharing the couch, moved if asked, didn't guard space, and was perfectly fine with us handling his paws when awake! - Training + Treats: Max was exceptionally intuitive about tone and body language. It felt like he could read our minds, responding to words and gestures like he knew what we wanted. He likes treats, but praise is just as effective a reward! - Strangers: Max met a few people outside the house. For the most part, he was his timid self. But two people gave Max a funny feeling, and he turned into a bit of a guard dog. His hackles were a good early indicator of if he thought someone was a threat. **Single person home*** **Please Note** Our pet listings update automatically every 4 hours, so they are as current as possible. Story
Johnny Cash, like the man in Black who is big in stature and in heart, is who we named this Black Mouth Cur mix puppy.  He is our big/little guy who is mild mannered, charismatic, and has a beautiful personality that is as great as his looks. Although this litter of 4 pups were found roaming on a back road in rural Tennessee, these pups are far from wanders and have quickly settled into knowing their foster home boundaries and requirements to be foster pups! They never leave your side and is exactly what Johnny Cash does!   Sticks to you like glue.  These pups are living on a small mini farm and they have experienced small children, cats, other dogs, cows, and birds (guineas and chickens) with only an initial curiosity that has demonstrated an overall passive attitude about other animals and kids!  Johnny Cash is about 4 months old and 20 pounds and he is going to be a 55-60 pounds adult boy who can be a farm dog…a city slicker and a lover all rolled in to one.  He is very versatile with his personality and how to fit in.  If you would like to know more please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 5, 2024, 3:15 pm

Story
Now some of you youngsters might now remember the name… Little Jimmy Dickens.  He and Brad Paisley had a very special bond where Brad looked up (or down) at this little man who forged an unbelievable legacy in the country music world.  He was not even 5 foot tall but his spirit and his heart was a giant Red Oak.  But just like this short country music legend called Little Jimmy Dickens, this puppy named after him, has a much smaller stature than his siblings and doesn’t lack in personality or intelligence!  He will grow to be a 50-60 pound adult dog.  He is currently almost 3-4 months and well on his way to the ability to be potty trained and trained quickly.  Although these 4 pups were found roaming on a back road, they are far from wanders and have quickly settled into knowing their foster home rules and requirements to live harmoniously! These pups are not roamers or runner risks, but they never leave your side! They have been with small children, cats, other dogs, cows, and birds (guineas and chickens and are just best friends) and aside from an initial curiosity, Little Jimmy and his sibs are overall passive about other animals and kids!   If you would like to make this handsome easy going boy your family companion for the next 15+ years…then email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and ask for an application once you have given  them the location of where you live?  City and state. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.May 5, 2024, 3:15 pm
