Story
Hi there, I'm Kyra, and I pretty much have a “Lady and the Tramp” story to tell. I'm a 9-year-old, 60-pound cur mix, looking for a new family who can love me for who I am. I used to have a family, but they didn't understand me. I lived with three little girls who I adored, and I would do anything to protect them. One day, one of the other dogs in the house bit one of my girls, and I couldn't let that happen. She immediately became a trigger for me and I attacked her. Instead of being praised, I was punished. My family wanted to put me down, but a kind group of people saved me and took me to a foster home. Please know, I had lived happily with my family, including the dog I fought with and another, for years. After this incident, I still got along with the third dog. I don’t typically guard against other dogs. It was just a poor situation all around. This is my Lady and the Tramp story. I'm a good girl, I promise. I'm spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and house/crate/leash trained. I'm friendly and sweet, and I love to run, play, and cuddle. I'm good with kids and cats, and I can get along with other dogs if they are nice to me and others. Because of the recent incident, I will likely need slow introductions to new dogs at least for a while. I can be standoffish and bark at men, but I usually warm up to them after a few minutes. I'm looking for someone who can appreciate me for my personality and my heart. I’d like to be your best friend and find my forever family. Is that you? If so, please fill out an application today!

Story
Hey there, I’m Stan the Man, and I’m here to tell you why I’d be the perfect addition to your family. I’m a handsome, brown-coated guy, a mix of black mouth cur and boxer, and at 4 years old, I’ve got the perfect mix of youthful energy and mature manners. Weighing in at a solid 50 pounds, I’m the ideal size for all sorts of fun – and yes, I absolutely love being a lap dog. I’m all about love and affection. I adore everyone – dogs, people, and even cats. There’s not a single mean bone in this body. I’m well-behaved in my crate, fully house trained, and walking with me is a dream. Midnight strolls? They’re my absolute favorite. And car rides? Count me in! I’m currently hanging out in Humboldt, TN, but for a family that’s just right, I can be transported. So, what do you say? Are you ready to add a loving, leash-walking, car-riding companion to your life? Fill out an application and my rescue will be in touch if we are a match!

Story
We adopted Brewer when he was 6 weeks old from the local shelter. He was a good puppy, but had been abused so we eventually got a second dog for him to play with and bring him out of his shell. Brewer went to a month long puppy training camp and is fully house trained. We have no issues with Brewer, but we now have two little girls under four years old, and Brewer and our other dog are too large and play too rough around our girls. They have accidentally knocked them down several times, not intentionally being aggressive but just wanting to play. Brewer is now 9 years old and does not have any significant health issues (we removed a tumor last year but it was benign). Brewer loves being outside and playing fetch, but is also comfortable laying around the house all day. He can be known to be stubborn and not go outside when he needs to, but with a little prompting he will go. He has never been aggressive toward any human or other dog.
